I don't want to take the edge off our excitement over yesterday's 'announcement' - presuming nothing more concrete has happened yet - but it is possible he will be sent out on loan next season.

If so, you'd have to hope we'd be looking to buy a striker in the summer, with Laca and Eddie leaving, meaning, after a season out on loan, Flo could come back in and replace Auba's place in the squad.

Just an idea really.

That would be heartbreaking if he sent on loan. He could take Eddy's spot if the later is either sold or sent on loan.

As with a lot of things, it depends if we are in Europe.
No European football means a streamlined squad. Loan seems more likely.
Champions League means we are more likely to buy, so Balo on loan.
Either Europa competition means he will stay and play a fair bit.

Taking Eddie's spot in the squad only means going from rarely being on the bench, to sometimes being on the bench - something that would take him away from the U23s and could mean less playing time and development.

As DJ says, if we're not in Europe next season, a loan might actually be the more sensible route.

A lot of fans are still piiissed he released a video comp of himself straight after we failed to score in a defeat. That's probably why they took the time to give that little detail.

Wow I wasn't expecting him to sign. I hope Arteta gives him and Azeez some minutes in the League now.. been wanting to see what they're capable of all season

Excellent news. I suspect we’ll still see Laca in the league so he has a chance to build some value before trying to sell him in the summer. I think if he was replaced by Balo at this stage any hope of getting a decent fee for Laca in the summer will be down the drain.
