10 Years Ago Today

Ten years ago today, Yaya Toure scored the winning goal at Wembley against United in the first (and only) FA Cup Semi Final between the 2 clubs.

A lot has happened since, mainly good.

It seems like Yaya's trying to redeem himself after all this time.

Grateful for those moments, but as a fan it's difficult to welcome him back into the fold, particularly at the time when he did it, when Pep was just trying to build something.

I had to look it up but apparently you scraped a draw with a Championship side thanks to a dubious penalty to win the 'forgotten' title.

Watched the hightlights last night:-

A hilarious performance by the highest paid defenders in the league, Scholes embarrasing himself once again and wonderful saves from Joe Hart to counterbalance VDS being nutmegged by Yaya.

Great memories, even greater ones on the way.

Yaya was a fantastic player that was treated well by the club along with his family.

Problem is he will never be up there with Vinny, Silva, Sergio and Zabba in the eyes of the fans no matter what he says or does now.

He was a pain in the arrse with his attention seeking crap at times but he sits alongside Kompany, Silva, Aguero and Zabaleta.

We have to welcome him back for what he has done on the pitch and if he kicks off again then that's it.

I 'went off ' him in Madrid in that Semi.

Vinny had got injured early on and we looked to Yaya to score, or at least provide the one goal we needed to get to the final.

It was if he couldn't handle the responsibility, no powerful runs, didn't go near their area and just knocked a few short passes around.

There was a kid a couple of rows down from us who was covered in blood after being battered by the Spanish police. He was screaming at Yaya to show some commitment but no - He just strolled around as if it was the warm up.

I don't hate him and I'll never forget his contribution in 2014 but he'll never be up there with the 'True Elite' in my eyes.

Surely you must all love Toure for what he did at City. You wouldn’t have won the 2012 or 2014 titles without him is all I’m saying.

Sorry, been out for the day just got back. Thats fair comment and I'm sure many City fans will see it the same way.
