"Trust the process"

But can we?

I have been a big Arteta fan. Hands up. I've been arguing with the Arteta out lot for a while now.

That performance today though was dreadful. I would trust the process if I saw progress. We are playing as crap now as we did at the start of the season.

Can we afford to give Arteta a few months next season? I am not sure anymore because if we start off in a similar fashion then we will have to get rid and we will end up the sacking a manager, and writing off next season. Nothing in these performances tell me we will be better next year.

Arteta has to win the EL otherwise a decision may need to be made

I still think Arteta has the qualities to be a top manager which is why I have kept faith in him, but nothing is getting better. Perhaps another club will reap the benefits.

Well done for waking up and smelling the coffee. As much as I want Arteta to succeed, I have been Arteta out for a few months now. Not due to results, but due to any sogn of consistent progress. Klopp finished 8th..but you could see he wanted high energy pressing and attacking g in his play. They got caught out at the back but once he got a goalie and Van Dyke, he had the missing pieces and it all came together.

16 months into Arteta's tenure and I have NO idea how we want to play. Are we attacking or defensive, do we press high or sit back, slow patient buildup or fast movement? We do every combination of tactics, formations and players. And sadly, it does not seem to settle into a long term plan. THAT is what is damning.

Oh...and most of these players are players he wanted. Either brought in or convinced to stay (xhaka bellerin). He also seems to have his favourites. It's taken ages to drop Willian for Martinelli. Cedric is our best RB but does not play. Mari is our best CB...gets dropped all the time. Arteta's decision making is horrible.

Another one finally seeing it for what it is.

Before the game I said on another forum that I expected Arteta saying Martinelli being in a better place meant he had coached him into retaining the ball rather than playing the riskier attacking defences. Today rather than run at defences he turned and played a back pass. Well done Arteta, you've turned an exciting attacking player the fans loved into another Willian.

You talking about the same guy that nearly lobbed the keeper in the first minute? Odd.

Why were our players celebrating a draw. What mentality is Arteta instilling into these players?

I’m still happy for Arteta to be given more time. There’s only so much anyone can do with the players at our disposal. If he had inherited a great playing squad then fair enough, but he didn’t and many of the players need to be replaced and there simply hasn’t been time to yet.

We create chances it’s not Arteta’s fault our players can’t finish them

Doesn’t seem he can get anything consistent from this group of player, unless there’s a big turn over of players, I really can’t see him improving them any more. He’s been with them for a while now, and I still see no consistent progress, occasional promising signs, but overall we’re no better.
----------------
How many big turn over are we planning to have?
6 of the starting XI have been at the club or playing for the first team for less than 2 years. Same with the all 3 subs. Of the 5 remaining players, 2 of them (Xhaka and Holding) could have left or wanted to leave but Arteta blocked the move. In the case of Holding, he has even been awarded with a new contract.
We can change the players as much as we want but if we don't start to coach them properly, then I'm afraid, the results will be the same.

Managing a little like he is playing fifa this season, he will just keep changing the team week in week out. All fine on a computers game where a player with an overall 80+ rating pretty much consistently stays there regardless of whether he plays. It’s taken the guy over a year and I still do not know what his preferred starting 11 is and Fulham are battling for survival, should have kept the players on a good run of form (I’m thinking mari).

He is a baffling person. But I think he was within his rights to trust that his team could beat Fulham.
I still think we should keep him regardless of this season and keys face it r we inning the EL is a big ask. Unless a Simeone becomes available stuck to and jets see what they have up their sleeves
