Copied and pasted from another thread:
It’s not the best analogy obviously, but regarding the debate around players taking increased wage vs international football/clubs not in ESL, most successful players playing in Europe could probably accept a move to the Middle East, or China and be able to x2 or x3 their wage in the process. Of course, some players do, but not all.
If ESL actually goes through with a ban on those players doing international, it’ll probably be a mix of players staying at normal club level and those doing ESL.
I’ve also just thought there’s a slight risk ESL becomes a league for those who are nearing the middle-end of their international career who would not accept the extra money

If the fans of those clubs boycott the games as well, it’s not going to look great selling your super league with half empty stadiums. Doubt most of the fans in favour of it go to the games anyway

Ander Herrera appears to be the 1st to speak out against it.

Let’s be real, no one is going to go through with the boycott when we are hosting Real Madrid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Watch it on a dodgy live stream from home for free, bypassing whichever TV channels show the game and direct ticket revenues.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wouldn't you be busy watching Burnley vs Trabzonspir in the Champions League?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not personally, but the idea that Burnley *could* get into the CL is definitely a far more exciting and interesting proposition than anything the ESL has to offer. And that's the point.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not exciting enough for you to watch it though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I pretty much only watch United. I'm not a good sample to go on.

Must have been him too and not a social media team with the poor English. Good on him. Doesn’t strike me as a mercenary.

Cancelo has apparently come out with something now too. Don't have an Instagram account though so I don't know what it says
