Those hoping for the fans to change this

It ain't happening, the support in africa, asia, america absolutely dwarfs anything utd have in the uk and they would probably welcome this change with kick off times to suit them, games played in their continent etc etc, really does look like the end

legacy fans aren't changing anything

As said, this isn't about the locals in Manchester, Liverpool, North London etc who have had season tickets for 30 years. This is about the millions of fans of their respective clubs in countries like China and America who absolutely dwarf the UK in population size.

Absolutely everything here has been centered around money. Rightly so for the businessmen and women of the club, not right for the integrity and moral of the game. Unfortunately, those who think they are "boycotting" their club and their sport probably won't even be considered by the club. Local fans' voices are tiny now.

But the owners will attempt to make it up to the local community by investing some of their astronomical fees into the community.

You do wonder how deep and loyal and monetisable the millions of global 'followers' is compared with the smaller numbers of 'legacy supporters', though. And it doesn't go without saying that some of the followers could be put off the ESL as a product. Remember, some of the current consumers of the FA/UEFA competitions we are part of are British and European fans who will largely hate the ESL and its founder clubs. And it may be that a portion of the global fans have been more attached to the EPL and to the idea of fair competition than some assume. And then when inevitably the Super League expands to include Chinese and Australian and American franchises, how much of the global fanbase will remain attached to a Manchester brand rather than their closest metropolis?

Nah it won’t be killed. This has been prepared for and they know what they are doing

People do seem to underestimate the severity of their intent. Up until almost midnight last night people were saying it was a pure bluff etc and minutes later there was this announcement.

It seems more wishful thinking than considered opinion.
