I’d rather Spurs fell on their backside, dropped down three divisions and never saw the light of day for 20 years then go to the ESL - at least they’ll be failing by merit.

100 per cent correct. This is a lifeline to Spurs, and some are to stupid to see it. No manager, probably no European football as it stands, huge debt. And our supporters are still waffling on about integrity. Meanwhile clubs like City and Chelsea go further and further away.

It's been a great week. Spurs have joined the mega rich cartel now. Can play the boys midweek now, as CL is guaranteed for the next 20 years. Best thing for years that happened to Spurs.

But it’s not. And that’s a fact.

And closing it completely is not the answer.

Newcastle, Blackburn, West Ham, Forrest, Leeds - all massive clubs who have been relegated. This can’t happen in the ESL

Ridiculous comment.

What a surprise to see the usual suspects in support of this with their opinions that nobody else seems to agree with.

And what would be the difference between 2nd and 17th in the PL?

Literally none. If you can’t win the league it doesn’t matter - Spurs have already qualified for the ESL.

There would be so many dead rubber games in the PL

Well that is an argument to change the way the current Premiership is run, the money system etc.
