Sky last night

None of us wanted ESL, we know Neville and Carragher don't want it either.

No disrespect to either of those but listening to them go on for an hour pre match about it and then afterwards with host prompting them to go over it again and again was tiresome.

Steve Parrish added some great insight, but hearing Carragher going on about every player has to say this, every manager has to say that, after himself admitting that he didn't speak out as he could have done with American owners issue was grating.

I could be wrong, but I don't see players not fulfilling fixtures because of this or publicly condemning it, the most they will say is that they don't like it and just want to get on with football, occasionally one will be more outspoken.

The meaningful action needs to come from FIFA, UEFA and Prem and quickly and I'm really sorry to say this, but the action needs to be exclusion from their leagues, if possible.

Why?

Because trust has been broken and once broken it's nearly impossible to regain.

And then the governing bodies need to do what they should have done years ago, and that is put in far more robust governance about club ownership as it is the owners who have done this.

I never said he wasn't allowed to have an opinion, I just said it contradicts his own stance. I'm also not saying that is necessarily wrong, as everybody wants more money. But in that case there isn't a criticism for clubs or people being "greedy".
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you ever moved jobs for a pay rise? If so, then you are greedy and cannot stand against this Super League proposal as you have seeked to increase your own income.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No I haven't because I have never moved jobs.

But I'm not criticising them for moving for the greed because it exists in football already. Neville isn't wrong by saying it's greed, but it is wrong to criticise them for being greedy because it exists in everybody I imagine.

There's personal development and then there's greed.

But then there's greed and then there's GREED .....

Neville has matured into an excellent pundit and commentator of footy. He gets rewarded well, certainly compared to most, because of that.

For me his outspoken comments are welcome and probably reflect the feelings of many, probably the vast majority, of fans.

OK Sky, Carragher and Neville are not exactly pure as snow but I can deal with that and actually their debate is measured and passionate and represents accuratly the vast majority of views of every fare minded supporter opposed to this potential earthquake of a shift in our national game and the game worldwide.

I personally think Man. City will pull out of this before the week is out. Their owners are all about image and they will not want this huge amount of negativity attached to them. Also they certainly do not need the money so can afford to not be part of this and once they leave this grubby gang of 12 the pressure from government, fan groups, media, players and managers will shoot this whole thing dead in the water.

However the Billionaire owners that proposed this ludicrous plan should definitely receive some form of punishment that doesn't punish their players and their fans. Maybe put them in the stocks and throw custard pies at them!

----------------------------------------------------------------------
They can't leave because they have put their name on it and have signed for the new league. They will taken to court if they decided to leave
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If that's the case they could still afford to pay whatever compensation to break any contract they have signed.

What would it cost 50mil 100mil? Massive to most clubs but the City owners could off set this loss quite easily or even get their clever lawyers to drag it out over many years.

Either way the bad feeling and bad press that this has now created surely is not worth a few extra million in their already multi billion pound Arabian pockets.

No but it is hypocritical to do so.

Nothing to do with Neville being Neville, as I have said, I don't mind him. If Carragher said it, I'd be saying exactly the same. Thinking I'm giving my opinion based on who has said it isn't right.

Does anyone honestly think these clubs would have signed upto a deal like this, where they effectively try to take on the whole of football, and not given themselves a get out clause?

Man Utd and Liverpool are the instigators here and their owners are going to have to sell up when this thing collapses as I think it will because the fans will never forgive or trust them again.
