Next Years Champions League

So given United, City, Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal are out of it, will the Champions League places go to Leicester, West Ham and two out of Everton, Leeds and Villa?

That'd be some comeback for Leeds

Wouldn't want to get European football 'by default' - as the players' shirts stated last night - we need to earn it.

Having said that, if they do exclude the 12 teams that have rebelled, there may be no other option but to run with the best of the rest.

How sh*te will the Champions League be next season.😕
I feel sorry for the likes of West Ham, who would have looked forward to playing Europe's elite, to then, because of these ar5eh0le clubs, find themselves kicking around with Europe's fodder.
Shame.

There'll still be a payout, and champions league money will still be alright. I imagine that'd come in handy to consolidate how far you've come in one season.

I'm sure CL TV deals/companies and sponsors won't have any issue continuing to pay astronomical sums with some of the best clubs no longer in the CL 🤔

yeah, but we aint getting any of it now anyway, so it dosent make any odds to us that it would be lower.

It would still be a massive windfall for us which we could channel into better players

Might take a few years, but as long as fifa and uefa stick to their guns the champions league will still be able to, and will still attract the best players, just might take a couple of years to get it back.

Players can earn a crap tonne of money playing in china, yet must dont go there in their prime cause despite the money its a nothing league and doing so would be the death of your international career, and yeah people want to earn as much as posible, but most also want to play for their country.

also, id love to know where they are getting their refs from, all refs are fifa registered so they wont allow them to ref this thing

Great point about the officials, and a whole new rule book needed too?

The rugby league and rugby union "split sport" model, then?

Cricket's had Packer, the IPL and the T20 - different forms of the same game.

But no relegation? That STINKS!

Maybe I'm wrong but I always thought part of the fun and excitment of European football was playing teams you didn't know much about.

Obviously going to the big, iconic stadiums is special but playing teams like Marseille, Lazio etc. is still great

We spent nearly two decades out of the top league, and three of those years in League 1. We have had a great time. It doesn't matter who you are playing, it matters whether you are competitive in the league you are in. And if you're not, you get relegated and hopefully be competitive in the League you are then playing in.

The thing I am waiting for is one of the 12 to back out. Juve, Atletico or Inter would be my guess. Then the league won't be able to find 5 patsy clubs to join them, and if they did and Spurs and Arsenal ended up bottom every season, the whole thing would fall apart
