Punishment

If all of the English teams withdraw from joining the ESL, should they be punished for proposing it in the first place?

If so, what level should the punishment be levelled at them.

1) points deduction for next season

2) points deduction for this season

3) relegation to Championship

4) banned from European competitions for up to 3 years

5) massive fines

Even though it impacts on my club, I do not feel the clubs should go unpunished.

What do my fellow football supporters think should be any penalties imposed on these six clubs?

Cant punish them for exploring new avenues. They havent done anything wrong

Was just about to put this. Football has been about nothing but money since the PL and CL started, and the organisations responsible for both have squeezed ever penny they can out of it for themselves. Their reactions over the last 24 hours have been nothing but sheer panic at the possibility of losing their respective cash cows. Any rhetoric about the good of the game is just hypocritical BS.

The clubs were well within their rights to cut out the middle man in UEFA, the massive and costly error they made was to eliminate the competitiveness element with regards promotion and relegation. I suspect that this was actually driven by those responsible for financing it, they’re only interested in seeing the top teams play each other.

This.

The fans are parrots and are repeating what others are saying. The owners of those clubs doing what is best for their clubs.

i wouldn't punish the teams because it's only going to hurt you guys. the owners maybe could be flogged or stoned a little. nothing too serious.

Fans and players of these clubs have helped stop the super league. Seems harsh that they shd suffer.

Fans & players should be rewarded in fact. I'd like to suggest a guarantee of UCL qualification, maybe for 20 years or so. I'm just spit balling

Massive fines for me, that should be given to charity and to clubs down the football pyramid who are struggling due to Covid.

Handing out relegations or points deductions would just devalue to competition.

Make some of the owners get involved in Marcus Rashfords food distribution program.

Or be locked in a cell and watch endless replays of Arsenal v Fulham

The punishment should be that no one owner can have a majority share of any club. Like Germany 51 % should go to the fans.

Club owners can implement operation human shield to avoid all punishment. Just have to say any punishment will negatively impact fans and players to avoid repercussions.

Does this apply to jyst the big 6 as a punishment?

Or do you mean it as a general policy that all clubs have to implement?

Punish them in the one and only place where it hurst: their money. To them, absolutely nothing else matters.

Heavy fines to each club, money to be given to local charities, decided by anyone but the owners as to who gets what. They’ve just got to deliver up the dosh and step back.
