Bringing the game into disrepute

Rule E3(1) of the FA Rules and Regulations. This Rule reads as follows:

‘A Participant shall at all times act in the best interests of the game and shall not act in any manner which is improper or brings the game into disrepute.."

6 teams are guilty as charged. No jury needed.

The FA’s powers now are limitless, which could include expulsion not only from the Premier League, but from football. Of course this won’t happen.

At the other end of the spectrum, the FA could decide on no action, or a slapped wrist. Of course this should not be ALLOWED to happen.

Financial punishment will change nothing.
Exclusion from competition will not be easy, as Man City’s showed being able to bat away their punishment for financial irregularities through legal
process.

So the question really is.. what effective action can the FA really take to change anything to prevent this from ever happening again, but at the same time ensuring they do nothing that, by effect, end up damaging further the financial position of existing clubs, who, let’s be honest, rely on the income pulling power of the big 6??

What created a closed shop league!?!?! I guess we'll never know, i'd like to think not - but i know i'd have been just as against it as the many fans have expressed in the last 36 hours.

Every fan wants success for their club, but at any price/cost - i'm not so sure.

I think this farce has been created by US owners who see the concept as the norm in the States and other owners, especially in Spain and Italy, looking at ways of bailing out huge debts they've created for their own clubs.

But it's a fair/reasonable statement you make....

"How exactly have other clubs suffered?"

You could also look at Luton, their owners at the time completely crapped them up, went into admin and new owners bought them out, but, before they were allowed to buy they had to put a plan in place that the authorities had to approve, they did everything they were instructed to do!..

Luton were sent flying down the divisions, not sure, 4th div or one lower, the authorities told the new owners what they had to do and then sent the flying!..

If the new owners had known what was coming they wouldn't have taken control, so, the bods in charge of football knew what was then, and they know now, I wonder what will happen this time!..

I cant see any of these going down!..

I wonder if there could be a way for Luton to sue!..

Be honest, if this had happened during Peter Ridsdale’s time, Leeds United would have done the same thing
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Peter Risdale would have been all over it like a rash.
The difference is, he'd have bankrupted all 12 clubs if they followed his lead!

What would Leeds under Ridsdale have done? That's a question without much value.

What did Leeds do under Radrizzani? That's far more relevant.

Some interesting comments about making the actual perpetrators pay for this - so maybe the organisations involved should investigate whether any corporate espionage has occurred.

A number of the owners were involved at the highest level at UEFA, FA, EPL and had access to some very commercially confidential information about TV revenues, etc. - all which would have been needed by the bankers for them to assess the viability of the project before they could commit any funds.

So what was shared with JPM / ESL and who was involved in these discussions? To me there seems to be prima facie case for this so this option should certainly be looked at.

Doesn’t make it right though!

Ridsdale might have tried but the fans would have been against it I’m sure.

One thing is for sure - Leeds would have been punished!

I think this would work

1/ Kick out the 6 owners. All fans of these clubs should be happy their club had been cleansed and all neutral fans should agree this is good for the game going forwards

2/ elect new custodians for the clubs

Spurs - massimo Cellino. Would be great to see massimo closing down parts of the new stadium and playing Chas n Dave songs on his guitar

Chelsea - Vladimir Antonio from his cell.

Arsenal - Oyston family. Those eccentric would fit in well

Man City - gfh . More “rich” Arabs for city

Liverpool - it’s a return of gillet and hicks

Man Utd - none other than Ken Bates. The world watches on as every asset is stripped and money moved off shores whilst league one free transfer and loans are attempt to keep the fans happy 😃
