Anyway let’s talk actual football.
Villa vs City tonight. A City win tonight ends any glimmer if we have of winning the league imo. An 11 point gap with 18 points left to play for on our end is far too big of a gap.
Like most sensible United fans I know there is slim to no chance we win this title but the football fan in me is always thinking what if even when deep down you know it’s not gonna happen.
People make the comparisons to 2011/12 but at that stage both sides still had to meet and that City side was far better than our current one and the current City side is better than that United side top imo. SAF worked miracles to get that side to 89 points.
It’s not gonna happen but it won’t stop me at least keeping an eye on tonight hoping for a miracle.

This sounds paradoxical but I'm just so glad I can care about the upcoming matches again that I don't mind what happens. When the Super League raised its head, the upcoming matches just became irrelevant. Now it's so nice that it matters - and that's enough for me.
(Really doesn't make sense when I write it down, but it's exactly how I feel.)

I know what you mean. I instantly lost any satisfaction at the Burnley win.
The Liverpool and Chelsea results didn’t seem to matter, as it was a sense of “who cares if they make top 4 or not now?”
The rumoured kicking out of clubs from this season’s European competitions also made the remaining games seem pointless.
But now... come on Villa, Southampton and WBA!

It is so frustrating that we had such a poor start to the season. Only 2 wins in our first 6 matches left us a mountain to climb.

They’ve also had results they won’t be happy with including their last league game.
