Jack Harrison

Jack's been with us on long term loan for coming up to 3 years now.

Are we going to seal the deal or not?

Is he worth sealing the deal on?

I feel he's grown a lot with us, but early season form not there at present and when you compare to Raphinha, you can see how much you could potentially upgrade, but at a cost.

Deal or no deal?

I do appreciate for the older generation like yourself Don and Stoopo, anyone under 50 will indeed be looked at with wistful eyes for their ability to still be able to run, touch their toes and not pee on their shoes.

I’ll have you know Jonty having been on a keep fit regime I’m thinking of getting the boots back out there will be a spot available at LB and having seen the criteria required more than fit the Bill regarding Jack was told the main target is a right footed winger so with Raph on the left would think Jack will have to fight for his spot could see Costa leaving,

love jack as i do all our players and they all have had good and bad games but are we happy to make up the numbers in PL or do we want to push on for european football, top 4 or even the top. If we are going to progress then we need better players with more skill but who are prepared to put in the work of those we have. If someone had said 2 years ago Dallas would be a stand out in PL they would have been laughed off this board yet people thought Klich would easily make the step up but seems to be struggling. To me we have a few players who i feel need upgrading although i dont really want to lose those we have and we know MB wont carry a large squad.
We need a proper LB and for me upgrades on Harrison,Klich,Roberts and Costa plus a backup for Bamford.( still not convinced by Rodrigo as always injured so dont know what hes going to turn out as). Is any of the U23s ready to step up and fill these players positions only time will tell but if we want to challenge top4 we need players another 3-4 players of Raphinia and lorientes class

Does his fee not go up the longer it takes to sign him?..

Whatever, he is as good a player as the next when he's playing at his best, I don't think Bielsa has lost trust and I think his price, even if its a bit more is well worth it!..

25 is borderline young in football terms. Rooney Giggs and Owen developed much quicker and we're well established by 25.
However there are plenty of examples of players that took longer to realise their potential. Ian Wright, Teddy Sheringham and the centre forward who played for Cameroon, I think he was 40 when he played against England at Italia 90.
Also are own Luke Ayling has taken longer to reach Premier league class and arguably without Bielsa's input may have just drifted down the divisions. Dallas also.
Give Jack two more years I say and see what happens.
He could be a late developer.
