I would have preferred 65 but taking seats off the Tories and Labour and now having 64 MSPs is a fantastic result. Increased number of votes for SNP and an increased share of the vote.
Well done also to the Greens their results guaranteeing a majority for independence in the Scottish parliament.
Despite a turgid, tiactical voting campaign by the Tories they failed to increase their seats.
So much for Ginger's pronouncement that 'Regardless of your politics it's clear the SNP are losing ground whereas the Conservatives are gaining".
Nope. Didn't happen. 👍
Well done Nicola and the SNP.
Great Election Results

It's not breaking, it is 2 weeks old. And you didn't even bother to mention that the fiscal balance was even worse for Wales, NI, and North England plus only marginally worse than the Midlands.

Great result for Scottish conservatives.
The SNP will be disappointed they failed to get the outright majority they had targeted. That was their mandate for indyref2 and its gone now.
Tactical voting amongst the unionists did for them.

What gets me is that over 850k people voted for SNP in regional lists they had no hope of getting seats in. If they'd all switched over to Green, who had no hope in any of the constituencies, we'd be looking at 17 more Green MSPs, 7 fewer Labour MSPs, and 10 fewer Tories.
Of course, we'd be even better off still if people just didn't vote for the fvcking Tories in the first place.

Quite.
Look how much our country has progressed under the SNP for God knows how many years.

However, we have a string of 3 Tory seats stretched across the border. Clearly the SNP don't allay the fears of these voters and I understand their concerns. Not sure NS can do much about it if England won't negotiate in advance again as seems likely?

I did think that the map of seats won did look like a re-enforcement of Hadrians Wall...
