Spurs have two of the top three

goalscorers in the Prem, two of the top three assist merchants in the Prem, yet still look miles of the pace. Problem is the rest of the team are so poor, that even with the two top players, Spurs are no way better than very average now.

Should be obvious to most, if not all, by now that a change of manager is not going to make much if any difference to the current situation. The only way things will change quickly, is if Spurs have a mass clearout, and bring in a dozen new players, and in the current financial climate that is not in a million years going to happen.

With that in mind, I have set my mind, that in the Prem at least it will be some very lean years for the next four or five seasons minimum, so probably best scenario would be a domestic cup, even that would be difficult, given the current squad crumble at the first sign of any real test.

Going forward over the next few seasons, obvious a whole new defence is needed, probably the same with the midfield as well. If Kane and Son are sold, get as much as possible, and use the money wisely, not to buy so called superstars, but just battle hardened pro players that want to put themselves on the line for the club. I currently do not see one player at the moment, other than perhaps Hojbjerg, who whilst not performing at his best, does look like he gives his all every match.

All is not lost, but it will be a gradual rebuild again now one step at a time. Don`t expect to much, no meltdowns if Spurs lose two or three in a row. But we need to see some effort, and some willingness to not let the heads go down as soon as they concede. Some fighting spirit is required at the very least. No more just targeting CL, don`t try to run before they can walk should be the motto of the new bunch of Spurs players that will no doubt be incoming over the next few seasons.

For now though, I would dump the absolutely turgidly slow partnership of the Toby and Dier, yes Toby has been a good servant, but is clearly past his best now. Start a partnership of Tanganga and Rodon, yes they may be raw, but they will be quicker and more up for proving their worth. Certainly cannot be any worse. I never thought I would say bring back Davies for Regulion either, how have things got that bad? But Regulion clealry is not a very good full back, may be better moved forward, like Bale was when he first came in.

All in all though not a particularly bright future for a fit, but it is what it is. Part of being a supporter.

Spurs have no identity or style of play.
They playing as individuals not as a team.
We need a manager to clear the deadwood and build a team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Absolutley, far to many individuals and not enough team players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Exactly what I said yesterday while watching the game

Man for man we are better than Leeds but the huge difference was they were playing as a team and had a system

We solely rely on individual moments to get us points

Think is was Ace who summed it up perfectly by saying we are clearly so uncoached .....it’s embarrassing watching us play at times (at least under mason the players are trying to go forward but no one knows where to go and what to do)

We need huge money for Kane and Son and start again by taking what we can for the other dross in the squad .....I don’t think anyone is un sellable anymore .....never thought I’d say it but it’s time we said bye to Kane, I’d rather keep Son (if we can!)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Does football work like that anymore?

I mean can you just have a massive clear out bring in loads of new players, expect them to instantly click and for the club to move forward?

Cause I think what is far more likely to happen is, players are sold, new manager brings in new players, new manager is not given time to build the squad, new manager is fired, another manager comes in and has a squad of players who he dosent probably want and then wants to bring in his players.

Rinse and repeat the above time and time again.

I just can't see spurs moving forward with a chairman who never gives his mangers time or changes how he operates.

At Leeds bielsa is always going to get the credit for our rise, however a massive amount of credit has to go to the board who not only backed bielsa in the traditional sense, but also pretty much did a 180 on how they were running the club in order to allow bielsa to take the club forward.

Can Levay do that, can he say this hasn't work I need to change how I do things?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He can't and he won't.

Without Kane spurs are no better than Newcastle, Brighton etc

Lucky to have him
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well that is not exactly true, before Kane came Spurs were far better than both Newcastle and Brighton, and still played regular European football, even if it was not CL every season. Bit of a silly post frankly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah talking past not present?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No still talking present. If Kane left tomorrow, Spurs would still be better than both Brighton and Newcastle.

How did you go from Vertonghen & Aldeweireld to Dier & Sanchez?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think it is called old age. No players last forever. Same as United gone from title winning teams to just a top four team now.

Enic seriously need to sell up to multi billionaires...

We are never going to get anywhere otherwise... getting sick to death of our perennial under achievers...

The only way Son & Kane will stay, is if we back the new manager in the transfer market, with quality purchases...

Our defence is rotten!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

To be honest Spurs had a chance to join the big table just a couple of week`s ago, but the fans didn`t want it. You only get these chances once in a lifetime.

Nobody wanted that Sandy and too right. They have angered fans even more with that pathetic shambles with the super league. What we want is these cheap skate owners to f** off, so another ambitious owner can take over and actually start showing they mean business on the field rather than off it. Levy and ENIC only give a toss about their Amazon documentaries, stadium revenue and NFL deals. #levyout #enicout

Don, problem is there is not a chance in hell of any rich owner coming in with a spare three or four billion. ENIC are not going anywhere for the foreseeable future. The only buyer will be some dodgy group who want to launder all their money through the club, like Abramovich has done. Newcastle were blocked from a takeover from such a consortium.

While I’ve pretty much had enough of levy these days under him we have got into 6 finals and 5 semi finals and only taken one trophy.

So It can’t all be levy’s fault

There are some short memories here. Selling our two best players is not the answer. We should be building the team around Kane. We never really recovered from loosing walker, dembele, and Eriksen.

The defence needs sorting but we should have enough cash to do that without selling our best players. Without Kane we would be worse than we are now which puts us bottom half of the table.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Maybe not all his fault but he hasn’t invested in the playing field anywhere near enough. His biggest mistake was not investing and spending nothing that summer where we nearly won the league. A clusterf** of decisions that have now come crashing down spectacularly. 6 finals , 5 semi finals and to only win 1 trophy is pathetic by the way

Only Levy could move into a billion pound house and fill it with Ikea furniture.

Our problems start at the very top, we are one of the 10th biggest clubs in Europe based on revenue, but Levy acts like the 100th biggest.

It is why the media do not take us seriously, why we are so easily mocked, and why we don`t get given close to the same levels of benefit of doubt on the pitch to our rivals.

We don`t act like a big club, constantly scrimping and saving, leaving transfers until the last minute to try and save a few quid, settling for 2nd best instead of going out and paying what is required to improve.
