I read Lanark a few years back - it was an 'interesting' read....

Reread it a couple of years ago.It was a bit Ulyseesy in it's use of language etc

The ending of Quantum Leap was sad enough.

The ending was quite surprising. Apparently some lubricant was found, and Henry volunteered to have man s@x, really hard, for a really long time.

I won't spoil things by giving away the sordid details!

Been trying to find a download copy of McCarthurs bar but it’ll have to be a paperback purchase I think.

Read it years ago on holiday and just remember bursting out laughing every now and again

McCarthy's Bar is a superb book, as was his follow up The Road to McCarthy. Pete McCarthy was a genuinely funny writer, who died way too soon. Would recommend both books to anybody.
