FA Cup Final - Leicester City

I can’t believe I’ve written those words in an article title as I always hoped, but never thought I’d see it happen in my lifetime. Leicester City are in an FA Cup Final!

Now that’s worthy of a pre-match thread.

We go into this game on the back of very mixed form and a team that looks low on confidence. This, coupled with a Chelsea team looking massively impressive under Tuchel, you’d be an idiot to bet against Chelsea.

But we’re not betting, we’re supporting and we have to believe that somehow we can get a result. We have options in our formation:

3-5-2 with a low block and hope for a stuffy goal
3-4-3 and press high with Vardy wide left and Perez right
4-2-3-1 ho hung-ho with a high press and drop Nacho
Or go 3-5-2 with a high line as we have been doing?

The last option scares the life out of me as I think Chelsea would tear us apart on the break.

I don’t think we quite have the right players for a back 4, so assuming Evans is fit I think we have to go with a deep back 3 and grind out a result.

What do people think is our best chance of coming home with the first FA Cup in our history?

Well I wasn’t expecting that result!

So basically beat Chelsea twice in the next two games and the FA Cup and top 4 is ours.

Easy right?

The sting in the tail could be if they win the CL after finishing 5th.

That would still be fine. The 4th place/No CL scenario was only if Arsenal won the Europa as well.

Surely if they finish 5th and win the CL they take the 4th place spot, can't have 5 in the CL?

I think Dunge is correct. Five are permitted if one of those is a CL/EL winner. Now Arsenal are out of the frame that's not going to be an issue.

I might be wrong, but for Chelsea to finish 5th surely we have to beat them next week meaning that we finish 3rd?

Chelsea could beat us on Tuesday and still finish 6th technically.

Lose to Chelsea twice. It’s still a great season if we beat Spurs and get Champions League.

Beat Chelsea once and it’s been a great season.

Beat Chelsea twice - dreamland!!!

Dreamland was when we beat Derby in the play-offs. Did you not hear the commentary. This would be dreamland in dreamland!
