Have to avoid defeat tonight to have any sort of realistic chance of getting into the top 4.

Personally think we have to win. No margin for error at all. 4 wins are required. We manage that we will almost certainly be in top 4.

Tonight we are owed a performance. They have a chance to salvage the season. I expect to see us give it everything we have.

No cl has a silver lining. More rest for players that have pretty much played constantly for years. Ropey league would mean can put out a second string, whilst smashing crud teams to pieces. Be a nice rest. Also with the defence back and no CL it'd give Liverpool a big edge going for the title.

I do actually think 4 wins is necessary as well, but at minimum a point is required tonight to have any chance to catch Leicester and Chelsea.

If you give Leicester and chelsea any respect then you have to think that both win win their final games.

Neither is an easy game by any means but you have to assume they can win them.

this would mean:

Leicester win v cheslea then they get 72 points, cheslea are limited to 67
Draw means Leicester can get 70 and cheslea 68
cheslea win and then they can get 70 and leicester are limited to 69 points but have a superior GD right now

This means that no matter how you cut it the only way LFC can assure themselves of 4th is to win all 4 games left and win them well.

Once LFC wins all 4 and put in enough goals to make the difference then the issue becomes which team messes up.

however this is all for nothing if we don't beat man utd away where we have not done so in several years and not under klopp.

this brief bit of fun might only last up until 8:16pm tonight

If Liverpool win all their remaining games then they will have a better GD than Leicester going into Leicesters final game. Leicester would need to win by 2 goals minimum (assuming Liverpool won each game by 1).

I hope its not another case of squandering 600 chances ...

And then 2 howlers leading to two united goals ..

And as gb said ...we are long overdue a win ...i.think its just 4 wins in 21 years at old toilet

not at all, not being in the CL will seriously harm recruitment and finances,

I think liverpool can do it, I said on the live thread the other day 4 wins and 4th is theirs. Chelsea have 2 bigger ties to focus on and they will slip up. low and behold they lose to Arseneal in the next game

Klopp has said he won't be spending loads unless players are sold. Seems he is planning to keep his strongest 11 so there will be maybe a few coming in, depending on fringe sales. Nothing no CL would hinder. Even in it he will be still doing the same it seems from recent quotes.
