Been struggling a bit recently tbh mate.

Have had to take time off work for anxiety issues. No idea what’s causing it but hopefully I can sort it.

How are you ?

Sorry to hear that mate, have you tried using CBD? Apparently that is good for anxiety. I hope you manage to get yourself back together again soon pal. All the best.

I’ve been good cheers, just plodding along.

Sorry to hear that, palmers.

Could be brought upon by lockdown and everything, it’s been causing a lot of mental health problems for people, even for those that have not suffered with it previously.

Darren

Honestly I’ve no idea what brought on. I’ve been fine during lockdown. I live alone and don’t mind my own company. I started a new job a couple of months ago and have just had feelings of panic and anxiety every day. It’s really frustrating because I can do the work and have the experience. I’m gonna talk to someone to try to learn to manage it. Really frustrating

Can be hard to establish what the triggers are for it. A lot of it is unconscious. The reason I mentioned lockdown is that it has triggered a lot of mental health problems in others, even if people have been fine.

One such thing could be agoraphobia and social anxiety. The obvious issue people had with lockdown was being stuck in and being unable to socialise. But the others side of that is that some people have started to adjust to this, and that leaving the house and meeting people now can trigger some anxiety. The new job may have something to do with it also, as it’s a change to circumstances. So it may be a case of having to adjust, rather than something deeper.

Not sure if any of this applies to you, but thought it may help bringing up to help get an idea of the problem. Definitely worth speaking to a doctor about it, though. Hopefully they’ll help and you’ll be okay soon.

Thanks mate.

Yeah there may be something in that. I’d found adjusting to lockdown quite easy, even though I hadn’t seen my friends for a while I have a couple of siblings who leave nearby. I’d been in my previous job six years and knew the company and the role inside our so that is a factor I found since joining the new firm it was hard picking up things because I’m not in an office seeing and speaking to colleagues. Essentially I’m doing a similar job, but some of their processes are new to me. At home I feel alone, even though the company were great and offered me support.

An option is maybe to consider going back to my old firm but I don’t think that’s the answer. There isn’t a vacancy there currently and I’d be taking a salary drop if I went back.

Yeah I’ve been speaking to my doctor who recommends I have a blood test in case there are underlying health issues. Also got an appointment with a psychologist to try to understand what’s causing this or at least how to manage it. I don’t want to start another job until I understand it more as I fear the same thing would happen again.

Cheers for the support

Yeah sometimes simple things such as change can be a cause. We’re creatures of habit, so upsetting those processes and routines can be problematic. And when we consider how our concepts of normality have been severely altered over the last year and a bit, I think it’s completely normal for people to be having some issues.

Glad to hear you’re looking to go through those avenues, for some that can be difficult and even exacerbate the problem. Hopefully things will be fine soon.
