Grealish

I honestly think we'd have won that game today were he not playing. Which for me makes it all the more ironic that this player, who came into the Villa side today to help end Spurs' Europa hopes, is the same one Levy refused to cough up the money for a few summers ago, when he was like 3 times less the price he is now.

There's a saying about being bitten on the ass that would be quite appropriate here.

So much for our "shrewd" chairman.

One constant through 20 years of absolute failure is Daniel levy.

Grealish is just one in a long line of top players we wanted, but ultimately Levy was not prepared to cough up the money for.

We can go back years and find numerous examples of Levy`s stinginess, Eto, Morientes, Moutinho, Grealish, Mane, Fernandes, Dybala, De Ligt, De Jong, Skriniar, Dias etc etc etc, these are just a few examples from the top of my head, there will be numerous others also.

ENIC run the club as a business first and a football club second, they have no desire to win silverware at the expense of profit, the balance sheet is always king, and their history in the transfer market proves it.

Every top player we have had under their tenure eventually wakes up and smells the coffee, and asks to leave. Even many lesser players that they sell on, usually go on to better things and pick up medals.

Levy sells our players a dream, but never actually has any real intention of making it happen.

Any fan who continues to defend these parasites is quite frankly either naive, deluded or just downright stupid.

ENIC OUT, and I have been for years.

Who assembles the squad of players ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well that`s a silly argument. Every squad of players at whatever club, are assembled by the club as an entity. It is then up to those players to perform. And come on how many of the players purchased over the past three seasons minimum have actually performed. Daniel Levy cannot be held responsible for that. He supplies the ammunition, he doesn`t fire the bullets.

Sandy still in denial that Levy is making all these decisions when he is obviously not the person that should be making them, should stick to counting his money and let someone that knows about football handle that side of the business

Levy and the people high up at the club are appointing those in charge or recruiting and scouting players, and also appointing the coaches who are supposed to coach and improve these players.

Hopefully Levy sorts the transfer issues out by bringing in Rangnick, we need a proper DoF to deal with transfers and get the right players.

Would we be happy with Rangnick and a lesser name manager? Pressumably Rangnick would want to bring in his own man who could well be German and a lesser name..

He's a bit like a nagging pain that you cannot take anything medical for

Safety comes first regarding the money with Levy and ENIC. If they don't believe the player is worth the money, or that the particular coach can't improve the player to be worth a bigger sell on price or to move the club forward, they won't sign them.

I have seen a lot of names thrown about and some of them, not all, were not exactly poor decisions in hindsight. For instance, Grealish. A few summers ago he was a Championship player with a bit of a reputation for being a party boy. He is now being quoted prices of about £70-100m (according to some sources). Would you even pay 3 times less than that for a player unproven in the Premier League, a poor reputation and a Championship player? That doesn't happen so often. The best of the best move for that type of money and, at that time, whilst Grealish's talent and potential was clearly there, why would he have represented a £30m-ish transfer fee a few summers ago? I could imagine Spurs fans going mad and even then, would he have got in to the side then?

You could use Alli as the argument that you have a history of developing lower league footballers, but he was much less than what you'd have been paying for Grealish. It's going to be a (very) long project for Spurs yet.
