So we reach the final Sunday of the season. A season that I and every other Spurs fan wants to see the end of. Frankly it's been horrible to watch from about match day 10 onward.
One disaster after another, with mistake after mistake constantly repeated.
The weak mentality of the players continued at our usual high levels, with in excess of 20 points dropped from winning positions.
In terms of individuals. Jose proved us all right when everyone said he would be wrong for the club. Including every Utd fan warning us, and being proved spot on. Like Utd, this appointment will effect the club for some time into the future. Probably Levy's worst decision to date, and there have been a few.
In terms of players. Kane has been consistently our best player, but has now had enough. This has been seen in his performances, probably since the Cup final loss to City. Son too had a very good season for about 3/4 's of it, until burning out a couple of months ago. Ndombele did look greatly improved, but has finished the season with a whimper. Reguilon looked the business in the first half of the season, but again, has fallen away dramatically. Outside of those four, the rest have been awful. Special negative mentions for Dier, Aurier, Winks, Sissoko, Sanchez, Lemela Doherty. The rest, just Meh.
We DID reach a cup final, but this was a disaster. For me it felt like the most predictable final in years, but before a ball was even kicked. Literally everyone knew what the outcome was going to be, most importantly including all the Spurs players.
So onto the final Sunday fixtures. In line with the way Spurs "do things" the following will happen, as sure as eggs are eggs.
- Liverpool will somehow sneak into the top 4. The media will go wild and none of them will make the point that they have gone seriously backwards from last year. Media love in will continue.
- Leicester, will show they are still not a "big 6" entity by yet again missing out to bigger, richer clubs.
- Spurs will obviously crumble at Leicester on Sunday, rounding off the season nicely.
- Much more annoying, Arsenal ( again a club that get a constant free media pass ) will win their last game, and from a position miles behind Spurs, will leapfrog them on the last day. Something they used to do regularly in the mid 2000's.
So going forward. For me, the following are priority.
- Must get the new manager appointment right. Young, progressive, definitely good at bringing players on, and with a plan ( like Poch ) for the next 3/4 years.
- Let Kane go. I know, I know, but time and again it has been proven you cannot have one player bigger than the club. It never works and always pulls the club down. Plus, frankly we need the sale money to rebuild.
- Players mentioned negatively above HAVE to be sold, even at a loss. They simply will not contribute to the team progression. Others such as Toby, Deli, Lo Celso, Roden can be improved by a good coach. Oh and bring Skipp back to play a more active part in out MF
- Finally, the new manager MUST as the saying goes "build from the back" given this has been consistently our biggest downfall. Plus, obviously find a suitable replacement for Kane. I guess good luck with that one.
To be honest I am looking forward to next season. Just don't have a clue what it will look like.

Leicester and Liverpool will get top 4 if I was stick my neck out
Chelsea will miss out (will their players have one eye on the champs league final ?)

Can't see Chelsea slipping up. Although as long as we do our bit I'm not bothered.
Will only be a small crumb of comfort in what gas by in large been a poor season for us

This season has been a complete mess in a very poor Prem season. I think souless grounds without any crowds have greatly contributed to what I consider a very, very substandard Prem this season. You only have to look at some of the results of all teams.
Like you, however, I just want this one done and dusted, and then I will be looking forward to next season with eager anticipation once again. And hopefully I shall actually get to some games finally again.
Spurs only aim now for the season is to lose about 7-0 to Leicester, to allow them to get CL football over Liverpool.

Second, yeah "sneaked in" is about right. They were last in the top 4 on the 13th Feb, before sneaking back in on the 19th May. During that period they lost SIX home games on the trot. So yeah, sneaking top 4 is factually correct.
