So with that abysmal season now behind us and Arteta setting the unwanted statistic of no European football for the first time in 25 years we have to really make an effort to reduce our squad numbers while at the same time convincing decent players to come
In terms of getting rid of players who would you get rid of?
Goal keepers: I'd personally keep ryan for another season as he's a decent back up - not a number one but hasn't been too bad when he has played.
I'm undecided on Leno, if he wants to go then fine but his latest comments suggest he is happy to stay.
Defenders: With Saliba hopefully getting a chance next season then as well as Luiz going we really need to get rid of at least one of Chambers, Mari Or holding. I'd probably look to move holding on as at least Chambers can cover right back. As for Mari, he makes the odd mistake but has been quite decent occasionally when ive seen him play.
If we keep chambers I would look to move on Soares aswell as Bellerin. Might be able to get a decent amount for Bellerin from PSG if they regain their interest. Not sure who would be in for Soares though.
Midfiled: Thankfully Ceballos will never darken our doors again so that's one out for sure. Bin off El Neny aswell. Hard worker but no where near good enough.
I'd also definitely sell Xhaka if we can and get a decent partner to play alongside Partey
I doubt we will get Odegard permanently but hopefully maybe another loan.
Theres also a question about what to do about Willock given his outstanding form for newcastly. Unless we get a ridiculous offer (of 40-50 million say) then I would give him a chance next season to see if he can step up with us.
Attack: Would definitely listen to offers for Lacazette and Nekitah. Balogun can take Eddies place in the squad whereas we can look for a younger striker as a replacement for Laca - Don't think Martinelli is quite ready to start through the middle.
And finally what to do with Auba? Can we write this season off for him due to his personal issues and bout of Malaria he's suffered? Or has he got Ozil-itis and is no longer bothering after signing his contract extension? I'd personally give him another season although if we get an offer over £20 million it might be tempting to sell

A minor part, as much as the other players in the squad, the coaching staff, management and those at the top. It's waaaaayyy more than 1 player as to the reason we have been so chit for so many years.

How the feck do you get to that conclusion?? Its very simple, i do not believe that Xhaka is one of the main reasons we are so chit right now....other things and other players are worse than him imo, but we Arsenal fans always have to scapegoat a player...it looks like Xhaka is next.

While we sit deep and play indirect football our attack is fecked. Doesn't matter who we bring in. Partey was one the best midfield players in the world. But in a team that plays so deep he has largely been in effective.

People who wants to sell Xhaka needs to answer the question who should be coming in? A player that is willing to play for Arsenal with no international football, on lower wages than him? And of course being better than him.
