Lubos' Leeds Ratings - 2020/21

What a season! Back in the PL, and a 9th placed finish, which excedes my preseason position by about 5 places. Good job lads. Now let's reduce those feats to a trivial set of numerical valuations! Fun. This is every player who has featured in a PL game, not including those who sat on the bench and never came on.

Illan Meslier - 8 - What a season for the young lad. A few shaky games (Arsenal away springs to mind), but by and large has been brilliant. A real prodigy, and will hopefully only get better.
Kiko Casilla - 6 - Possibly a controversial one. I thought he looked solid in the last two games, so judging by his performances he was fine. The Crawley game was a travesty, but he wasn't the only player to play below his level.

Diego Llorente - 7.5 - Where would we be if he'd been fit all season? Dramatically improved our defense after he got back fit. Looks a top find from Orta.
Robin Koch - 7 - You can tell the guy is quality, but injuries have limited his effectiveness. Looked good when he has played, and will hopefully build on that next season by staying fit.
Liam Cooper - 7.5 - Had another very good season, in my book. Despite being constantly maligned and under-appreciated. What a feeling it must be to captain your boyhood team in their first season back.
Pascal Struijk - 8 - Another revelation, and what a free transfer signing from Orta! Been so good, which nobody would have predicted after that Cardiff cameo. The sky is the ceiling, as far as I'm concerned.
Luke Ayling - 8 - Bill has properly stepped up this year. A marauding presence like no other, and its a shame he hasn't got the goal that he deserved. Led the team very well when Cooper was absent, also.
Ezgjan Alioski - 7.5 - Had a much better season than I expected. He's still inconsistent, but played a key part in a good run at the end of the season. Not sure he's the answer in the first XI, but shown he is good enough to be a squad option at this level.
Niall Huggins - 6 - Yep. Looked okay off the bench, but it's one game. Hopefully more opportunities come his way.
Leif Davis - 6 - Injury has stalled his season, but I've been happy with performances when he has played (all of 2 games). Hopefully we see more in the future.
Gaetano Berardi - 6.5 - Love the guy. Absolutely love him. Two PL appearances is not as many as he deserves. Will miss him around ER, but not really done enough to score higher, for me.

Kalvin Phillips - 8 - Think its gone under the radar just how well he has adapted to PL life. He keeps us ticking over, and fights to the very last every time. Side before self epitomised. And multiple England caps! Nobody called that a few years ago!
Stuart Dallas - 8.5 - Hard not to give him that slight edge. Another who is proving the doubters wrong. Always stood by him, myself, but never thought he would hit these heights! Very real argument to be made that he should be in the PL TOTS.
Mateusz Klich - 7.5 - A difficult season to judge. He started off very strongly, veered off after several injuries and covid problems, and then seemed to find his feet towards the end of the season. Still, he has good stats, and hopefully a fully fit Klich will continue to find his place next season.
Jamie Shackleton - 6.5 - Had some good performances when he has played, but struggled for regular time on the pitch. Think there's a player here, and more gametime comes next season.
Pablo Hernandez - 6.5 - Hurts to give the great man such a low rating. Struggled to influence the PL as much as he did the Championship, but will still have memories from this season. Perhaps age has (at last) caught up with him.
Tyler Roberts - 7 - Another controversial one? People know I am a big Roberts fan, and I don't think his stats reflect his performances. He got the goal he wanted at the end of the season, and personally think there's a lot of potential to kick on to. Just need to stick by him.

Jack Harrison - 8 - Had a baller of a first season at this level. Contributing goals and assists, and has flown under the radar for just how well he has adapted, similarly to Phillips. 10 million is a bargain.
Helder Costa - 7 - Had games where he has changed it for us, but also games where he has struggled. Think his superior end product leaves him ahead of some other players.
Ian Poveda - 6.5 - Similar to Costa where he has had games where he has changed them in our favour, just hasn't backed that up with meaningful stats. Unlucky, and a project worth pursuing imo.
Raphinha - 8 - What a signing from Orta. a bit of exciting Brazilian flair that makes up for our previous buys from that country (Adryan anyone?). He will be a star, as long as we keep hold of him.

Rodrigo - 7.5 - A tough season to judge, what with injuries and covid, but he really turned it on at the end. A fully fit Rodrigo has the ability to shine in this division. We just have to hope that we get to see more of that next season, but seven goals is not to be sniffed at, given the nature of his season.
