Transfers & Rumours in Summer 2021

Transfer Rumours & Confirmations thread for this summer.

Will up date as information lands and posters add comments.

I haven’t seen much at all of the players linked from abroad and the opinions provided are second hand so if anyone has seen them play would be good to find out more.

SIGNED - Current Spend - £25.8m

Kristoffer Klaesson. **Deal Done 31st July £2m** A 20 year old keeper currently playing for Vaalerenga in Norway. He's played every minute for them this season, and is a Norweigian U21 international. Apparently we have been interested in him for a while.

Junior Firpo - **DEAL DONE 5th July £12.8m** Looks like he is the unnamed left back that was top of the list. Apparently fee agreed at 15m Euros. Barcelona signed for 18m Euros from Betis 2 season, unable to get many minutes with Alba first choice. Can play Left Midfield & Centre back also. Has plenty of assists & goals when playing regularly.

Jack Harrison - **SIGNING CONFIRMED £11m** expected to be confirmed as a permanent transfer on July 1st. Fee around £10m. Real bargain for a player with 16 goal involvements.

RUMOURS

Josip Brekalo - 23 year old Croatian right footed winger/attacking midfielder. His agent has confirmed interest from Leeds but many clubs after him. he's handed in a transfer request and will leave Wolfsburg. Fee around £13m which sounds cheap.

Mikel Damsgaard - 21 Right footed winger. Impressed for Denmark in Euros. £25m. Agent today has said that he knows Orta and no contact has been made, sounds like Italian press making things up again.

Jen Cajuste - 21 Year old Sweden International - £13m fee rumoured. Others clubs interested and likely to move. Plenty of potential.

Conor Gallagher - 21 Year old Chelsea midfielder - We know plenty about him having seen him impress over the last 2 seasons. Loan is the only option on the table and so would prefer to sign a player for longer term

Yangel Herrera 23 - Venezuelan - resurfaced as a potential target. Combative midfielder who has spent the season on loan at Granada from Man City. Can play 4, 8, and 10. Fee expected around £20m.

Farid Boulaya - 28 Year Old Algerian Attacking Midfielder. Available for around £4m due to financial situation in France and he's into last 12 months of contract. Could be a cheap option to add depth to 10 role and provide a right footed wing option.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia - 20 Year Old Georgian Winger. Both feet. Tall. Loves to run with the ball and good dribbler. Exciting prospect that could turn out to be a bargain, but hasn't played at a top level and so might turn out not to be good enough. From clips looks like it would be fun to see what he can do. Seen rumour that negotiations are advanced.

Romain Faivre - 22 Year old attacking midfielder. Can play either wing or through the middle. Had a brilliant season at Brest (same club as Perraud). Looks an ideal signing. Seen a price at £13m which sounds very unrealistic. AC Milan, Dortmund, PSG other clubs rumoured to be interested.

Nahitan Nandez - **Not even Orta's shortlist despite opposite reports in Italy** 25 Year old Uruguayan International. Plays Central Midfield & on the right. Looks like he has played most of the season for Cagliari on the right but I suspect he would come in for the more defensive of the 8s in the middle (Dallas/Klich). Appears to be a good presser which is vital for us. £26m

Gabriel Gudmundsson - 22 Year old Left Winger, plays for FC Groningen. Looks to be tall and quick. Likes to run at players.

Mattheus Cunha - 21 year old Brazilian who can play on the left or through the centre in attack. Incredible youtube videos and highly rated. £25-£30m.

Noa Lang - 21 years old as well and can play either wing or through the middle. Loads of goals & Assists in the Belgian League. £20m

Ryan Kent - We all know about him and there is definitely a pattern to the rumours. An attacking player who can cover both wings & the centre. Preferably right footed. Ryan Kent fits this.

RULED OUT

Dani Cardenas. **ALTERNATIVE SIGNED KLAESSON**

Freddie Woodman. **ALTERNATIVE SIGNED KLAESSON**

Romain Perraud - **SIGNED BY SOUTHAMPTON**

Borna Sosa - **ALTERNATIVE SIGNED FIRPO** 23 Year Old Croatian Left Back.

Nicolas Tagliafico - **ALTERNATIVE SIGNED FIRPO** An alternative to Perraud, Ajax LB.

Rodrigo De Paul - **JOINED ATHLETICO MADRID** Ruled out by Angus Kinnear.

Emi Buendia - **JOINED ASTON VILLA** Norwich attacking midfielder/10. Brilliant player and very good off the ball too.

don't think we need to be spending £30m on a name but another gem ala raffi for £17m + add ons, who knows o'brien could be that man, there is no reason why he can't step up when bielsa gets hold oh him
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We cannot compare all transfers against the value of Raphinha though. He was a very very very rare example of a ridiculous bargain. Not many clubs are as stupid as Rennes were in that moment.

We probably won't get another deal as good as that again in the next 10 years

If we spend 6m on O'Brien and that facilitates us siging a winger then that's okay by me. I think for Bielsa, half the battle is signing players for the system, whilst also getting quality. Not an easy balance to find, because the way Bielsa plays is so intense and pretty unique.

Also, according to Phil Hay leeds may make a move for Ryan Kent after Rangers were dumped out of the CL yesterday by ten man Malmo.

I'm happy for us to sign O'Brien obviously. I don't really know much about him.

I think the disappointment is that I want Shackleton to make it as a prem midfielder and this signing would suggest he isn't rated there by the Bielsa. It also strikes me as a player that will improve the side by raising the floor but isn't going to raise the ceiling level of the side.

There's also a chance that by the end of the year he's worth £25-30m and we have picked up an absolute bargain. He does strike me as the right style of player, I just don't know how good he is.

Think the likes of Kent & Lang would offer us a dimension we don't have at the moment and both are an upgrade on Costa.

Lang' agent has claimed that Leeds have still not made an offer for Lang, and suggested that the finances at the club are the reason we have been slow in the market. Confirmed interest from Leeds and vice versa in Lang. States that he has a buy out clause above £20m but won't be specific.

I wonder if the club has been waiting to see what we can get for Costa before committing. Valencia are in a bad state financially, so anymore than 7m would be a plus.

If Lang has a clause then maybe they are hoping they can pick him up further down the line.
