Winning Europa tonight is important for this squads development. We haven’t won a major trophy under ole, and whether you could wider it major or not, it’s more difficult to win than any other trophy with the exception of the PL and CL.

Just to get to the Europa Final while managing a 2nd place finish in the PL shows that Ole can manage a team, not just coach. I cannot fathom the amount of stress he's handling, all the while handling the press and keeping the players happy. Well done - especially if we win the damned thing. SAF was a dream era and we cannot expect a repeat, but I hope Ole has a long and fruitful era of his own, because Sir Alex has proved to be an impossible act to follow. Let's get this Silverware now!

I think that a large part of the importance of winning the trophy tonight is getting that first trophy under the belt - for both the manager and the players. For Ole it should give him some confidence and keep the press off his back somewhat. For the players it gives them a taste of success and hopefully increases their hunger for more. We have seen in the past that these smaller trophies can be a launch pad for greater things for mangers/players. Fingers crossed we can see the job off tonight and it leads to greater things in the coming years.

The major trophies would be the league title, domestic cups, champs league and Europa League.

The minor trophies would be the charity shield, European Super Cup, Club world championship.
