How involved is Kane

with this new manager search, do you think?

We're speculating as fans that such and such a manager would mean that Kane is more likely to stay. You would imagine the board think like this too - and they have the benefit of being able to ask him.

1) Do you reckon they have?

2) If so, do you reckon Poch's name has come up?

I'm imagining they've spoken with him re. the shortlist.

Kane should not be involved in picking the new manager at all. That would be no way to run a football club, allowing an individual player to pick the new manager.

Completely agree with this. No player should be involved in the decision making of any new manager, however legendary he may be.

Still think it's the right choice assuming Poch is the man lined up. I still have my doubts whether it will happen though. The fact that PSG are completely unmoved in their stance says he's not going anywhere. He's also not the kind of character to resign from a mission. He's a project manager and whilst I think he feels he does have unfinished business at Spurs, the job he's currently in needs completing too. He's just not the type to jump ship and tell people to go feck themselves.

Unless, and I'm clinging to this, he misses his family. Son in Watford, wife still in London in the family home. That's probably the biggest draw were any of these rumours to be true.

Why shouldn't a senior player (effectively the captain) be involved in the decision making?

They represent the squad who will be working with this person every day.

It happens in really successfully in industry.

In cricket the captain is involved in picking the squad and team.

Players approach the board when it's not working with an existing manager.

So why wouldn't they consult a player on their opinion? Why isn't that a way to run a football club, seeking consultation from all interested parties.

Not saying Kane is there with the final decision and negotiating the deal ffs

Sandy, you filtered me you big meany so I can’t comment on your article on Poch. I see if he fails second time round the buck stops with him but under Jose it rested with the players? Never change.

Anyway, you’re right here. No player should be involved in the selection of a manager. Then again, I wish Levy wasn’t sometimes

Well, Kane could be making noises like.....
"I want out ...but...if Pochettino comes back I might try another year".
That's a kind of input that Levy would find hard to ignore.

As for Sandy being right about anything ....well...
history speaks for itself.......
"Pochettino is terrible"....
"Mourinho will win trophies for the club".....
."the sky is green today".....

Seek his opinion on a shortlist of managers.

Why would his opinion be any less valid than any of the other people involved in the decision. Probably, and should have, greater weight.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes he can have an opinion, but so can Serge Aurier. Bottom line is though the appointment of a manager should be down to the hierarchy at the club, who pay the wages, not any individual player.

Do you get to pick your boss at work?
