Notes of the Game. (Snapshot of a season)

The game was poor yesterday. Worst part was it was our best team imaginable (bar Maguire) and yet while dominating possession, having gilt edged chances and just straight up being the more talented team, we just did not want it enough. How is that possible???

Anyways a few notes after calming down.

1. Lindelof is not a premiership standard defender. He gets pushed off so easily, he is the embodiment of calamity. I am tired of goals always coming from near him or his mistakes. There is not one thing he does at an above average level. There is no reason he should start over any defender in defence. He remains OLE's greatest mistake.

2. We are going to need to ask if Pogba is what this team needs. He is so talented but I do not see him fitting in any position on the squad. He should not play on the left, he should not play in midfield. He cannot play at a 10 with any consistency. Everyone believes he is undoubtedly talented but there is not position I am comfortable with him playing permanently on this team. So the question needs to be asked, do we need him however taleneted he is???

3. Rashford and Bruno. Lead our stats in goals and assists. Deemed untouchable by most (especially OLE). But I watched Amad and Elanga play against Wolves (yes it was a dead rubber) and they looked more dangerous than Bruno and Rashford have looked in months. Bruno I can say he is tired but Rashford's game has shown lack of adequate football IQ which has been obvious for the year if we are honest. His decisions especially when running with the ball have been atrocious and that no visible change in them despite OLE's constant selection says OLE permits it or worse just cannot see it. Someone like Pep would have sold him.

4. Our midfield. I believe our greatest problem is in central midfield. McT (good game yesterday), Fred, Pogba, VDB are not good enough for whatever the formation Ole is trying to play. He needs the best defensive midfielder money can buy and now. He actually needs two, in case the one he buys gets injured or needs rest. And he really needs to sell 4 out of Fred, Pogba, VDB, Matic, McTominay.

5. Our Manager. The way he accepted that the best option was to go to penalties is indicative of our mindset and tbh a product of the managers mindset. OLE IS NOT GOING TO WIN A TROPHY WITH US. Not with that mindset. Not with his stubbornness when it comes to his Clear Favourites.

Can he swing the axe as he should? No. Lindelof will start every game all things being equal. He will run Bruno into the ground. When he gets around making a sub that keeps his favourites on will performing woefully and sub others. He has no backbone.

Should he keep his position? Yes. Will never get us to the place we all want be in.

Lets hope for a better year than this one.
