I wouldnt pay any more than £5m for McBurnie. And even then there are surely better options.

Toney went for £6m plus add-ons last summer. There is value to be had around that level of fee.

I doubt Rangers would take him at any price.

Agreed, we won't be going for him. Not a chance Gerrard would want him in. He can stick to being pashed up fighting little boys in Sheffield.

We won't be spending 5m on anyone unless we make sales. I think our business will be frees and loans until sales are made.

On one hand i hope that's how we act on the other i wouldn't be pashed off to see us go an spunk 10m on 2/3 players either and build from strength but that seems very optimistic.

They might be tempted if a conviction makes him damaged goods and fire sale down south? Only 24 so in theory should still be getting better and possibly moved on at profit if he ‘scores for fun’ up here?
