Give Jesus one last chance

I am conflicted about how we go about improving the attack this summer. On the one hand we are less direct and we miss Sane's influence so much.On the other hand we have a David Silva sized hole in the creative midfield department and we struggle to pass in-between the lines especially when we are denied space as Chelsea did on Saturday.

We cant solve everything at once but I think the general shape, key personnel of our attack needs to change and I don't think buying a marquee signing will solve everything. I love KDB and his game has evolved in his time with us but he is no David Silva and we badly need a creative force next to him to move unnoticed in-between the lines and release our front 3. Some may say Gundo is the guy but I dont know. But another season in that role will tell us everything we need to know. He will certainly get better.

Lets face it all managers have blind spots, Peps blindspot is Sterling and Gündoğan. Its one of those things that you have to accept about the man and I am surprised some people think Sterling will leave. He will be given the chance to regain his form, he wont go anywhere. I suspect even Mendy will be given a chance to regain his form. It not like there is a world class left-back out there screaming for us to sign him. Unless our scouts pull out another Dias in that position I dont see any movement there.
`
Onto Jesus, what are his actual weaknesses. For me its just his indecision and inability to put his head up. Like Sterling he needs a lot of space ahead of him to be effective and I am not sure if thats something that will stop him from being an effective striker but the kid has everything else. What if the pressure of not having Aguero will allow him to play his natural game.

I always think of his goal against Liverpool at the Etihad as evidence that this guy can be a striker. Can we honestly get better than him without breaking the bank? The guy is 24 but I mean he is quality. A front 3 of Foden, Jesus and Bernardo can get us firing again. I would keep Sterling and Mahrez for some of the easier opponents but our press is kinda pants at the moment and I think we need to go back to basics up front.

We probably only need to sign a back-up striker this summer. Giroud would be perfect for the way we play. A marquee signing to replace Aguero wont work in my opinion, the pressure on this player to deliver will be immense.

I think this season was Jesus’ audition. And he hasn’t hit the mark.

He’s not a clinical finisher.

Jesus getting crucified here

Jesus, Torres, Delap and Palmer

The first 2 have scored hat tricks for the club, the other 2 scored 70+ goals for the u23s last season and have been promoted to the 1st team squad.

Rather than spend £100m on Kane we need to give them a chance

I’d love to see Delap given a chance. I think because of Saturday though we will invest.

Go for Mbappe then

Worth it just for the meltdown on here.

Is he any better than Jesus? I would be honestly happy if we dont sign a marquee signing though. As long as the forwards stay fit.

Give Jesus another chance?

Good grief. He's had two thousand years already.

Let him rise to the occasion

Jesus is not an out and out striker but few if any ,work harder for the team. Always unfavourably compared to Sergio but his scoring record isn't actually that bad if you take Sergio out of the equation. Much the same as Edin ,sometimes you never know what you've got till it's gone.
Jesus certainly tried to run the Chelsea defence when he came on and gave them something to think about
