Aguero Today. Garcia Tomorrow: FCB Rebuild

Great to see Barcelona are acting early in this transfer window and bringing in Sergio Aguero today on a free. A lot is made of Barca's financial difficulty, however this current window is a great chance for Barca to bring in some quality players, at the right ages, for free. Excited to see how Aguero will link up with his mate Messi on a more regular basis, hopefully next season I can start going to the games again if Covid has calmed down.

The fact is there's no doubt Kun is still a world class player who only makes City weaker by leaving. I believe Pep even admitted that, despite who City sign in that position, they won't replace him which makes you wonder why Guardiola is letting him leave; if rumours are to be believed then it appears as though Pep simply never took to Aguero, but then again he didn't take to players like Zlatan, Eto'o or Yaya Toure either so perhaps there's an element of truth that he can't handle big personalities.

Eric Garcia will also be confirmed in the next day or so, again from Man City. To be honest from what i've seen of young Eric i'm not all that excited about him. He seems to not only lack strength, but pace too and the physical aspect to his game seems lacking big time. I suppose he hasn't played all that often for City so perhaps whenever i've seen him he's just been rusty. It doesn't sound like City fans are sad to see him go though, however Pep was desperate for him to stay but couldn't convince him.

Memphis Depay and Gini Wijnaldum look like they're next on the menu, for Koeman or someone else (Barca have told Koeman if they can't find his replacement in the next 8 days he can stay) to use and bring into the squad to add balance and class. Particularly excited about Depay as he has a big point to prove having failed under LVG, I have a feeling he will be desperate to show the world he can succeed at an elite club.

In: Depay, Garcia, Aguero and Wijnaldum (total spend £0)

Out: Umtiti, Pjanic, Firpo, Fernandes, Coutinho, Dembele (please someone sign this fraud), Griezmann, Braithwaite, Alena, and Riqui Puig (total recouped £200 million)

Times are hard at Barca but bringing those 4 in on frees represents great business.

As I broke exclusively yesterday:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57313453

Eric Garcia signs. Another Premier League winning player joins FCB. Great to see the majority of our signings are all used to winning things at the highest level:

Garcia: PL and league cup winner

Aguero: 5X PL winner, FA cup winner and 6X League Cup winner

Wijlnaldum: PL winner, Dutch League Champion, UCL winner, UEFA Super Cup winner and World Club Club winner

Depay: Dutch League Champion

Winners winners winners at the Camp Nou!

Morning Cool-er! I’m pleased to see you’re happy with Barcelona’s new signings.

Have you seen Aguero’s comments since joining? He’s admitted Barca and bigger and better club than Man $ity

To be fair every player says that when they sign for a new club so nothing surprising. To be fair Barca are clearly a bigger club than City due to the European Cup wins. I do wonder if Aguero fired those shots due to a falling out with City's manager. Aguero's brother said that Kun's old manager never wanted him.

Gini Wijnaldum - crap signing for barca given his age. Waste of cash
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s 31 not 36. Still incredibly agile and fit for his age. He’ll be another Fernandinho, will Gini. Guarantee he’ll be playing for Barca in another 4 years.

Awful signing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Walks into the United team. Guy is a world class player I’d love him at OT
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s the opposite of what they need. Not some over the hill cart horse
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wijnaldum is a world class midfielder. Great engine, fast, top technique and agile.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fast. Wijnaldum was arguably the most frustrating player in the team this season in midfield because he takes more touches than anybody else on the ball. He takes 5 touches where other players take 3. That isn't a disservice to what he has provided, but he isn't any great loss for me now that Thiago has come in and started performing to the level he is capable of over the last 10 games.

He's a salesman mate. Now he realizes he can't find a replacement he'll suddenly renew his contract and say he was staying all along.

What's he said by the way? Can't find any quote regarding Koeman.

Koeman staying until 2023 IF objectives are met.

Laporta has told Koeman it's 'non negotiable' that next season he has to play 4-3-3

If objectives aren't met then Koeman leaves in a year.
