United are an elite club who want to compete for the biggest titles, and most fans want that for the club. if we are being honest, most know that Ole won't achieve that, so why keep him on?
A manager being sacked isn't a punishment. It isn't personal. It doesnt mean that manager hasn't done any good. It is simply an attempt at improving, much like replacing a player, or a coach, or an Exec.
Ole Improved the atmosphere around the club, signed some good players achieved respectable league positions, and would be remembered fondly by most fans if he were to leave now. But top 4 and a decent cup run is not good enough and won't be going forward.
Replacing him does not have to mean the atmosphere turns toxic again, or that the new manager will demand 6, 7, 8 new players. Nor would it fix the others issues at the club, but appointing a better manager / coach would be a huge start.
So, let's hope the club do what is best for the club, and that his supporters stop taking the idea of him being replaced, so personally.
