I’d be disappointed not to make the semis

Germany recalling the Bayern players makes me worry about them more than I was. They’ve pretty crap for a while now. The likes of Muller and Hummels coming in, and Löw leaving, is just the sort of thing that will see them get to the facking final or something isn’t it?

Will be there or there abouts

I still back Spain as their side of the draw and them playing all their home games at a baking hot Seville should see them though easily enough. A Spain vs France final? Maybe.

This is the worst squad Spain have had in years. If they get to the final they’ll have done extremely well.

How? Because not everyone plays the same team, luck of the draw. You then only get one opportunity against them. Compare that to a league season where you play 38 games and the best team wins, knockout tournaments are not the same.

If Southgate manages to get that squad into a semi final he will do well. I don’t expect England to get any further than the QF.

In attack we are (on paper) good enough to win it. Some decent players in other positions, mainly the full-backs, but weaknesses in central defence and central midfield will cost us, as they did in 2018.

I haven't had a look at the draw beyond the groups (route to the finals etc) but I'd be hoping for the semis.

Funny that, I though Kane and Sterling missing sitters is why cost us.

Kane probably should have scored against Croatia but they kept the ball far better and we were caught napping defensively on their winner. We were fine until then, even if Sterling had a poor tournament.

Yeah, Stones has improved since then to be fair, although he still has the odd howler in him.
