The wrang Hendry?

A report claims that Oostende have completed a £2m deal to sign Jack Hendry from Celtic.

Incredibly Oostende seemed to have negotiated a win-win deal from Peter Lawwell for the defender. If he failed to impress he returned to Celtic but if he made an impact Oostende could make the deal permanent for somewhere close to £2m

Despite signing for Oostende Hendry is unlikely to return to Belgium with Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Burnley and Leeds prepared to take him to the EPL- for considerably more than the £2m fee Celtic will pick up.

That's mental so he will basically be bought for £2 million then immediately flogged for £10

Probably a wee bit more than that.

You can bet that Hendry will have negotiated a decent cut if that is the plan because they need him to agree to go through with it.

I might be missing something-but is not much the same with most loans where there’s an option to buy?!

Price is agreed up front?!

Hendry was absolutely woeful at heading the ball, he obviously has other attributes and has had some success abroad.

Good luck to him, I just hope we don't regret punting him.

another good reason to leave Scotland, the football up hear can be brutal at times.

Size and strength still the number 1 requirement to make it.

Hendry is a strange one.

I thought and so did most people that he was one of Celtic's worst every buys. He became a comedy figure then papped off to Belgium and expected to do schite.

Became one of the top defenders in their league, got into the national set up and now looks a cert to start for Scotland at the Euros. With Celtic weak at CB i expected him to get another crack at it.

If he's sold for 2m it's a decent fee for a guy who flopped whilst also being a schite fee if he's then punted for 3/4/5x the money to the Premier League. Should Celtic have given him another chance?

Good on him for turning it around when everyone thought he was finished. SPFL must be a nightmare league to develop in as a youngster. If you're half good the opposition will look to kick you off the park, and if you get a move to the OF then you're a flop after your first mistake. Would be interesting to see more of our young guys go abroad for a more cultured football experience.
