Cant believe you lot turned down grealish over a few million quid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not us lot.

Daniel Levy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He also went for Sissoko instead of Mane
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He wanted Mane, but would not meet his wage demands, Pool were prepared to offer more wages, so he chose them instead of Spurs.

We can do a lot worse than promoting Ledley King to be manager..............
if he would accept the job!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How do you that? What do you know about Kings managerial abilities? Whenever I’ve seen him interviewed he comes across as a bit of a thicko to me. Plus he’s unqualified - if the governor of the Bank of England quits you don’t put his teaboy in charge, we need the best person we can get for this job, not some sentimental appointment of an unqualified, inexperienced bloke just because he played for us. Pull yourself together Ted.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ledley KIng was the best CB/RB of his generation.
He's been at Spurs since a kid, and he knows the organization from top to bottom.
He is currently the assistant first team coach
under both Mourinho and then Mason.
As others have said, why Mason was appointed ahead of King is a bit of a mystery. Perhaps King doesn't want the job?
What I am saying, if you can read, is that given the situation Levy has cornered himself in, he could do worse than Ledley KIng, if he is available.
Got it now, Dumbo?

As I understood it, King has been working mainly as our defensive coach. Based on our woeful defence last season, I'd say he's not quite ready to coach an entire team yet.

I'm not questioning is legendary status within the club, but I think Mason offered a better all round package.

Sacking a manager that had taken you to four straight top 4 finishes and a CL final the first time his team hit bad form in 5 years, because you’re a gutless disloyal prik who sheite his pants at the prospect of not getting top 4, when you yourself hadn’t sanctioned any signings for him in 18 months.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
THIS !!!!!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sounds like the penny has finally dropped for the majority of Spurs fans Hounslow. Frankly I was staggered that Levy didn't back him after the loss to Liverpool in the CL final.
------------------------------------------------------
Levy got so lucky with Pochettino, bought him an extra 4-5 years of this illusion that his penny pinching strategy wasn't a house of cards.

In theory letting him go after the CL Final wouldn't have been ridiculous, at the time (from the outside) that did feel like the zenith of the Poch project. A different chairman would've thrown the kitchen sink at Conte then, before he'd signed for Inter, as the finisher guy to Poch's work - not Mourinho, and not half heartedly half way through the next season.

Always found it odd that Mason was chosen ahead of King.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's because he doesn't have the right coaching badges to take charge of the team. Mason has almost finished his so he was allowed.

The performance of our defense has more to do with the lack of top class personnel than with coaching.
There's just so much any coach can do with a pigs ear....as Mourinho demonstrated.
