I've seen numerous reports linking us to Jack Grealish this summer, as well as City being in for him. I find this staggering to be honest, yes Grealish looks decent at Villa but is he even that good all things considered? Some of the hype i've heard about Grealish baffles me, including that he's better than Foden and Mount! Oh and also that he's world class. I don't see what all the fuss is about with him and before people start hounding at me there are a few key factors to consider.
1) Comfort zone
Jack Grealish is in his comfort zone at Aston Villa. It's one thing looking great a team who are very ordinary (just scraped relegation in 2020) and another thing to look great at a team like United or City. Right now everything goes through him at Villa but would the same happen at United or City when there are so many other great attacking players?? No chance. It is my belief he wouldn't stand out at a higher level
2) Performances
Yes Grealish has looked good at Villa, but the way people talk about him you'd think he has single handedly lead them into back to back fights for the top 4, only to narrowly miss out. In 19-20 Villa were incredibly lucky to survive and last year they were largely average. This isn't a player who is Roy Of The Rovers stuff for God's sake.
3) English bias
Let's just face it properly: if Grealish was Spanish he'd be labelled a diver as that's one area of the game he excels in. The media are all over him because he's English and they choose to look past his petulant diving as well as some of his idiotic behaviour off the pitch. Can you imagine if Pogba had been in trouble the way Grealish has? He'd be hounded out of the league.
***************
I don't dispute that he's a talented player but people are forgetting the level he's doing it at. Zaha looks good for Palace. Pennant looked good at Birmingham. Benteke was good for Villa. Scott Parker was good at Charlton. None are, or were, top players and neither is this guy.
We've been stung before for a player with similar makeup to Grealish. Schneiderlin comes to mind, so does Fellaini, so does Alan Smith, so does Blind. Avoid Ole. Avoid. Avoid avoid avoid.
Grealish All That?

Yes, Grealish is as good as advertised. I'd rather have him over Sancho

Liverpool fans were certainly painting losing two finals as a success in Klopp’s first season. Because it deflected from finishing 8th.

Yeah and some of their comedy performances like losing away to Bournemouth 4-3 or celebrating draws at home to WBA like they'd won the title

Maybe if united celebrated when they drew with west brom more, it may have motivated them to break 75 points in a season.
