Situation Still Vacant.50 days and Counting

I wrote a similar article last week and a few fans on here told me to be patient and to give the club time to find the right man for the job. That was before the Conte debacle unfolded.

My problem isn't so much that it is taking a long time to appoint someone, it's that there is absolutely no evidence of a plan or strategy from Levy. His actions have been so bizarre (like axing Mourinho 6 days before a final) that I think he's seriously losing (or lost) the plot.

As things currently stand, there appears to be no clear candidate. Yes, I know that we rely on media speculation, but often when a particular story gains some traction from reliable outlets we can feel fairly confident of its authenticity. At the moment there's relative silence. Maybe that's a good thing? But my fear is that we're going to end up with a manager that will not be inspiring to the fans or players and will only be appointed due to the lack of appetite by Levy to spend and invest in the right person and the right project.

Let's see what this new DOF brings, but the timing of this again seems strange to me because deals for new players etc will apparently be taken without the manager's involvement (because we haven't got one!). If we delay and wait for the appointment of a new manager, then valuable time will be lost because any manager worth his salt will firstly want to assess the current squad. When will there be time for that? Meanwhile the likes of Aston Villa, Leicester and others are already up and running with their transfer plans.

Season 2021-22 is looking like a write off already.

I think some of you need to go visit the Samaritans. FFS it is only a game of football. Just don't go to Spurs if it is making you that depressed.

What a ridiculous decision it was to sack Jose 6 days before a final and so close to the end of the season without a replacement sorted.

He may not have been popular with many or here but I'm sure we would have given City a.game and finished 6th had we kept him for a little bit longer. Best of all we wouldn't have had Winks anywhere near the starting eleven.

The whole thing has been handled in such an amateur way that I'm struggling to care who we get.

There are rumours that if he'd won, Jose would have been entitled to a big payout for delivering success. The fact that the CL money was off the table meant Levy knew he couldn't afford to allow that to happen so pulled the trigger.

That and rumours that he knew he was going and was telling Kane and other big players to move on too.

Yes, I heard that Levy was worried that he couldn't be seen to be sacking him if we won the lc.

Only Spurs could bin off a manager through fear of him winning a trophy.

I doubt you will find any articles I have posted after a game where I am raging. I move on very quickly. I may have the odd moment during and immediately after a match. But I certainly do not carry on posting depressing articles for week after week like lots on here.

Get it right fella.

Did the other JA606 posters claim to have written a letter to Levy demanding that the then manager be sacked??
