Was Maddison not meant to be the future of England? Reaching his peak years and didn't even make the squad?

Only just back from long term injury and not fit

I think that’s it Dubs. I feel like there should be more though?!

We’ve got a few in the ACON though

Dubs, good to hear from you, it's a bit quite on here.
Have to say I'm finding it difficult to get excited by England, might follow Belgium to see how our 3 players fare. Hopefully it will still be 3 at the start of next season!
There are some ex Leicester players to look out for:
Kante, France; Kramaric, Croatia; Van Aanholt, Netherlands; and of course, the England trio, Chilwell, Maguire and Kane. Not forgetting the Italian Manager, Roberto Mancini.

Well spotted Bowstring, especially Signor Mancini!
I do believe there is sufficient ability in our squad to do well but it depends on whether Southgate picks the right players, injuries and whether we move the ball a lot quicker than usual.
Don't forget your Euros predictions boys and girls - that will provide added spice for when we mess it up - again! See preceding threads.

Don't forget Cengiz Undaaaaarrrrrrr....

I think that's it for past and present players! Not excited about England at all, but a big tournament is always reason to be cheerful! Even if it invokes memories of previous campaigns! '96 stands out, as does '04 with Rooney's breakthrough!

Will be good to get the festival of football with terrestrial TV going again and all the international punditry on offer!

Add to that 1990 for me YWF as that was my breakthrough tournament (for spectating!).

It was such a shame that we couldn’t build on that 2004 campaign, when the golden generation came through but we never fulfilled their potential.

I still to this day blame Frank Lampard and Eriksson for that. He was too weak in dropping good players and forced our best players (Scholes/Gerrard) in to daft positions.

Putting a genuine defensive mid or box to box player at the base of that diamond would have been so much better.

Imagine a Kante there. Oooof.

Remember 4-4-2 was going out of fashion then too. As unbelievable as Cole was, we didn’t have wild pace at full back so we relied on the midfield for creativity. It didn’t come.

Poo.
