Transfer window is offically open today, and some biggish deals already in motion.
Villa will pay upto £40m for Buendia, Liverpool have paid £38m for a CB and Chelsea have bid £57m for Inter FB Hakimi.
I'm surprised at the size of the fees given the impact of covid, but they give me hope that United have more to spend than I thought.
Come on Murty, let's have a really positive window.

No good getting either excited or depressed at the moment, we don't even know who they are interested in.

Even the people who make these decisions won't know who they are interested in until 30th August, so plenty of time yet

Would put money on Ole to finish ahead of Chelsea even if he brought no one.
winning cups is one thing, but they are poor in the league.

We’ll do well to get top three again next season.

Yeah, of course we'll know more after the window but I fully expect a clusterfick, as per. You'd expect Liverpool and Chelsea both to be a lot stronger, so 4th would appear most likely at this stage.

Yeah pretty much. The cups will play a part as well, I’d have thought. Especially for us if we go far in the Europa League again.

Didn't Chelsea get more points than United from the point Tuchel arrived? I think Chelsea will be City's closest challengers next season. Especially if they sign a goal scorer.

Id back them to win it if they get Hakimi and a CF.

Most transfer windows used to leave me the same, when I entertained them, ie yesterday.
And “same” was that the other teams were signing great players and we were signing safe players.
All the way through Fergie’s tenure, barring a couple of seasons when we went big, I was always wary of us falling behind. Amateur.
Getting excited/nervous by the rumours in the transfer market is part of the rollercoaster of the season.
