Manchester United have had a £67m bid for England winger Jadon Sancho turned down by Borussia Dortmund.
The German club want about £77.5m for the 21-year-old, with an additional £4.25m bonus payment on top.
BBC Sport also understands that in addition to the fee not being high enough, United wanted to pay it over five years when Dortmund are only willing for it to extend to four.
United are now considering whether to revise their offer.
The Old Trafford club will be keen to avoid a repeat of 12 months ago, when they were given a fee by Dortmund for Sancho, then tried to reduce it believing the Bundesliga side would eventually sell for a lower price

I find it strange that some complain about United overplaying players and then complaining about strength in depth if we do get new players in.
If we do play three up front, and play around 50 games that's 150 games across the season. There's plenty of games to spread around if we manage it right.

Yep. Some people just like to moan. As I have said earlier, I think Martial and Rashford will fight it out for the left, Amad and Sancho for the right and Cavani and Greenwood up top. James will have to move on or be happy with bits and pieces. There will obviosuly be some interchanging from the likes of Rashford, Greenwood and Sancho, as injuries dictate.

Not sure I agree. I reckon Martial will battle with Cavani for the CF spot with Greenwood as an option both there and on the right. I think we could see plenty of Sancho on the left especially if Rashford isn’t fit and let’s not forget Pogba can play there too.

Could be right. Time will tell. At least we will have some better options. Hopefully not as many injuries to the forward like next season and Amada progresses, taking some of the strain off Rashford. Will be interesting to see where Elanga fits into the squad too. Maybe a loan move for him? We could try and send him to Dortmund!

Amad's going to Dortmund!

Rashford's decision making would improve markedly if he did the opposite to what he originally planned to do. I have never seen him make a decision.

Laurie Whitwell (Athletic's United correspondent) tweets:
Manchester United have had bid rejected by Borussia Dortmund but gap in valuation believed to be less than £10m.
Add-ons under discussion. BVB pushing for €100m (£86m). #MUFC feel compromise warranted.
Sense still deal should get done.

@jim_cocklord 13m Some reports seem to be misleading. Those charlatans at the Atlantic for one. I have it on good authority #mufc are distancing themselves with Sancho and aiming for Grealish,
