Getting the deals done early

It looks as though deals are nearly done for Edouard and Soumare with Bertrand also looking likely to join.

Assuming all 3 land, which other positions do you think we should be filling and who would be the ideal recruits?

Joking aside, I tend to agree with you Mersey that a wide player must be next on the list. Given our recent track record, that seems easier said than done.

We also seem determined to land another CB with Tarkowski and Kabak strongly linked.

Let's not forget Dewsbury-Hall who may figure this season and perhaps one or two other younger prospects coming more to the fore

Celtic fan in peace (my missus is from Leicester) … Edouard would be a very decent signing from us, especially at the bargain bucket price being touted. Very disappointingly downed tools for us last season, after taking the huff after not getting a move last summer. His talent is in no doubt though. Wouldn’t say he’s an out and out striker … better playing off the front man, so would be a major upgrade on the likes of Perez IMO.

Looks like you are spending the money that we are going to pay you for Tielemans!

That may well be the case KLS!

I must say I do struggle with Tielemans. I genuinely feel as though if we received an offer of 75m, I just wouldn't be too upset at losing him.

But he's also our Player of the Year, so he's obviously giving more than I feel I sometimes see.

Would he fit in Klopp's style KLS?

Fairly sure I would be an upgrade on Perez, Dave!

Indeed! … and you’ll be getting twice the player (at least) for half the cost.

Think he’d definitely fit in as a good replacement for wijnaldum.

This is true. We’ve tried and failed multiple time to find a replacement for Mahrez but Rodgers seems very keen to find that type of player.

As for Tielemans, for some reason I don’t think he’ll leave. If Liverpool genuinely come calling it will be hard to turn them down, but are they willing to lay £80m+ because our owners parent the type to let him go for less.

If they are, then we could be looking at Soumare as a replacement for him.

This is the beauty Mersey of the way City are set up at the moment, as has been demonstrated over the past few transfer windows, that we are capable of losing a key player without it adversely affecting the team overall.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to lose Tielemans but players heads are easily turned and he may well feel he wants a bash at the Champions League now. If figures are to be believed then 70m-80m would represent another great piece of business - assuming we invest it well, which we've shown we do.

Glad to see Edouard leaving Celtic. The season before last he was incredible, I think he’s more suited to playing off the left which may be where Leicester use him.

Not an out and out goalscorer as good as his record is. Improves your starting 11 and massively weakens Celtic. Bargain if he can recapture form.
