Castagne injured

Just heard that Timothy faces a long lay off with a double fractured eye socket.

Get well soon Timothy.

Let’s hope we don’t get too many more injuries, just as you think we’ll be getting players back.

Hey TB. On an evening where football came second, it was frustrating to hear of an injury to our player.

Fortunately it sounds like a eye socket fracture that requires surgery, but hopefully means it won’t be a long layoff.

Not sure if he’ll have to wear a mask for a while to protect it. It sounds a nasty one.

To be honest I haven’t watched any match yet, bits as I’ve checked in on scores that’s all.

Glad to see Eriksen ok but had completely missed that Castagne had even had to come off.

Like an idiot, England will be my first taste of the Euro’s, I’m expecting a loss today unless Croatia have suddenly lost their first team choices.

I didn’t see the game either TB - just saw some still pics in the reporting.

Can’t get myself excited by England. Never used to understand why my dad was so disinterested in them in major tournaments but now I get it. Years of abject failure bring you down!

At least with Leicester we knew our place, but time after time England promised, with world class players like Gazza, Hoddle, Cole, Rooney, Scholes etc, but ultimately failed.

In recent years we’re not even bringing through top class players. We seem to have created a generation of decent players just below that top level. So to expect them to step up in Southgate's negative formation is not expected by me.

Like always, I hope they prove me wrong and I’m pleasantly surprised!

I’m the same Mersey - very happy to be proved wrong by this England team but my hopes are minimal. We have some fabulous ability and talent but I just don’t see Southgate as progressive or ambitious enough to play to the real strengths of the squad.

As for Castagne, let’s hope the surgery goes well and he has a suitable pre-season. Haven’t read much about his injury, but one would hope it’ll heal well and he’ll be fit and ready for the start of next season

Southgate is a Loser but the FA seem to like Losers, got no chance but his little favourites will get plenty of Game Time.

Can't really think of anyone apart from Foden who is class in his team.

I think we do have lots of class in this team TB. Problem with England, arguably since Venables and perhaps Hoddle, the FA have only ever hired pragmatists which won’t suit our current crop of year players.

Apparently the injury was 3cm away from ending his playing career and he had a six hour operation to fix it.

Doubtful he'll be ready for the start of the Season, at least he can probably keep himself fit in readiness.
