It is obviously going to be forever a moment we all will never forget when Eriksen, the player most of us love, stumbled and had to have CPR during a game televised and watched by millions. I pray that he recovers without any damage, and soon.
However, this game had some positives for me. Cloud and silver lining I think.
The way both sets of fans, rivals up to then, behaved and chanted the players name, the way they shared the drama and in joined solemness and appreciation of the situation is to be admired.
They have collectively cherished the fact that human life is more important than their rivalry and acted to share the gravity of the situation.
Then you have both sets of players who consoled each other, in dignified silence and offered each other hugs and words.
Also the officials. This was a tough moment for them too. Yet Anthony Taylor and his colleagues acted swiftly to stop the game, got the medical help on to the pitch very much quickly, and then acted in thoroughly professional fashion of taking the players off the pitch, then brought them on after the announcement from Eriksen that he is ok and it is his desire that the game should be finished.
Well done to the crowd, to the players and to the officials.
Their behaviour and solidarity and empathy and reaction has restored faith in humanity.
And speedy recovery for our genius ex-midfielder Eriksen.
Faith

I'll be honest with you all I thaught he was dead after the amount of time he was being treated.
His career may be over but what's a career compared to being alive?

I think players generally have a good chance when it happens now with the speed in which they can receive help on the pitch, especially in games of this magnitude. It's a fortunate place to suffer it when you consider how it could just as easily happen when someone is spending time on their own somewhere.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah well said, I hope you father is recovering well
Given your comments on the live thread you saved his life, that must have been horrific to go through.
God bless

Thanks Pranks
I think he is doing ok. He's spent the last 2 weeks in hospital but yesterday seemed to be his best day yet where he was responsive and nurses said he was doing well.
I'm grateful we were there when it happened and that the ambulance arrived surprisingly quickly too.

God bless mate, life is precious.

I had TIA when I was totally on my own, and only realised I was suffering a stroke when I called a mate and he told my speech was slurred and that I must call an ambulance.
It is scary when something like this which is unexpected happens and you are alone. I had to ask my mate to see if he could feed my cat later that evening as I was being taken to the Hospital. Pray no one has to be in that situation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah not a good situation at all. At least it shows a lot of people out there like your mate are wise to it and know what to do. Incidents like yesterday will also help make people aware.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Very true, mate
He saved my life tbh. I was alone and when I was having TIA I collapsed onto the kitchen worktop, and even then didn't think about the fact I was having a heart attack!
How could I? I was reasonably healthy etc.
But soon as I spoke to my mate, he screamed at me to get an ambulance.
I have admiration for people like that. In Australia someone I know got saved by this girl who noticed a mole, which we all thought nothing of. It turned out to be a cancerous one, and it w caught early and saved someone's life.

I must admit I also thought he’d died, when the put those medical screens up like they do with horses, and also the length of time they were treating him with what looked like no response. It was horrific, I had tears in my eyes.
Have to say though, as others have here, how incredible the whole response was. I’ve rarely seen so many people act in exactly the ways they should do and with human decency and compassion at the heart of their actions. It was all pretty stunning, but sort of for the right reasons if you know what I mean.
Unbelievably happy he’s ok!

Yeah I head about that 'mole' thing. Fair play to that guy for taking the steps to get in touch and point it out.
Incidents like these are all bad but we can take good from them if we learn from them and read the signs.

It was really inspiring. It brought a tear to my eye listening to both rival fans singing his name. Against a backdrop of political division and social divide in recent years, in a global sense, this really shows the power of football and how united 'the family' is.
What we saw yesterday was the modern day equivalent of the Christmas truce during the first world war. A day when humanity wins and once again, football is the conduit of that victory.
So glad Christian is okay. It's almost crazy in this day and age that this can happen. He's screened every year for heart defects and the Spurs doc didn't pick up on any abnormalities during his 7 years with us. He suggested that it's possible that he could have been infected with Covid, without symptoms, that could have scarred his heart. I guess it's possible but quite scary at the same time, for all of us.
Get well soon 23!
