Now that we have seen what every team has to offer, who do we think will win it?
First up, no way will Germany do their miracle run after a dismal start routine. There are just too many teams better than them.
Secondly, There is, I think, a hierarchy of teams who can win it. There is also a bunch of teams who will be going home on the first available flights providing the planes are not flying over Belarus.
Thirdly, the crowds make a huge difference. Home advantage is going to be massive, unless you are German. You’d get more atmosphere at the Emirates.
Portugal, France, Italy and Belgium are obvious candidates, but for me, I think England are finally going to exorcise the ghosts of’66. They have an easy run to the quarters, and there is a great sense of camaraderie in the camp. Southgate is quietly going about his business. Most importantly, they have the world’s best midfielder pulling the strings. KP to win player of the tournament. Just hope we can hold onto him for another season.

Wasn't that impressed with Portugal. Very wasteful against Hungary, and thought 3-0 flattered them because the Hungarian defence just fell apart after the goal.
France looked solid against Germany, without being exceptional, but felt that they never got out of third gear.
England, France, Belgium or Italy, for me.

Well I think France are absolutely stacked, so would be surprised if it wasn't them. England will need to demonstrate more flair in the next two games than they did against Croatia.
Reckon Belgium are slipping a bit under the radar after their win against Russia.

It wasn't all one way traffic last night the Germans pressed hard at times in the second half but haven't got goal scorers.
Attacking France, especially Mbappe are the real deal but wasn't overwhelmed with their defence, Greizzman seemed to be doing most of the work box to box, even Kante got by passed a couple of times.

I thought Italy looked great. The way they play now is refreshing. No superstars. But all very good players.
And France are ridiculous. So good. Hard to see them not winning it. Talent everywhere. Those two for me.
But, heart is hoping we go on a spectacular run.

With leeds im always realistic with how I think we will do.
However with England I'm always the eternal optimist.

From what I've seen of the first round matches, I still feel France are the clear favourites, with as you say Portugal and Italy the nearest challengers. For me, the England performance and victory over Croatia has been over hyped. I believe we will get to the quarter finals/semi finals and go out to one of the big guns.

Win the group and we have to play France, Germany or Portugal in the next round, this is where we are most likely to come a cropper, my money is on Belgium or France. England will make it out of the group but we might be better off not winning it.
My view is that we will not make the quarters.

I was going on the likelihood of France winning their group, and England winning theirs. I think England are too strong for Portugal or Germany. This tournament often goes to the team with the stand-out midfield (Spain, France, Netherlands come to mind as previous winners). England beat Croatia easily, a team that mauled them in the last World Cup. People say that Croatia aren't as good this time around, but England made them look poor by dominating the midfield and limiting the chances their forwards got. The spirit in the England cap will be strong going into the Scotland game, and growing stronger. I like the look of this English team. Not spectacular, but plenty of backbone, and lethal force when required.

I think England will do the usual and tantalise us, make us believe that there is a chance of going all the way. Then doing the inevitable and throwing themselves, the fans and the country into a pit of misery. It's just what they do!
