Situation Still Vacant.60 days and Counting

Another 10 days have passed since we hit the 50 day milestone.....and another 10 days of farce has unfolded.

It appears that the club's recruitment process consists of:

- Seeing what candidate is available WITHOUT the need to pay an existing club compensation).

- Putting the feelers out in the public domain to gauge fan reaction.

- Then pulling the plug following the inevitable (and highly predictable) negative fan reaction.

There is absolutely no plan, no strategy and, quite frankly, no integrity in the process - what they did to Fonseca was appalling.

TWO MONTHS have passed since Levy sacked Mourinho just 6 days before a cup final and we are absolutely no closer to finding a suitable replacement.

Levy must resign now. His incompetence has plummeted to depths that not even I could have predicted.

Your chairman is looking for someone who only wants minimum wage. Or better still à zero hours contract

Should have got Ten Hag when we had the chance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yep.

Massive, massive blunder there.

Compensate Ajax appropriately, dobt faff about. Act like a proper big, decent club. Not some drunken idiot in a nightclub.

The guy would have been in good fit, ethos, ability to nurture youth and work within restrictions and play lovely football.

What the F happened here man.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you considered that this may have happened but perhaps he turned down the job, hence why he signed a new deal at Ajax?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ajax activated a clause so he didn't sign anything. It just meant they were entitled to more compo if he chose to leave. By all account he was keen but after Levy chased Conte he didn't want it. Fairplay to him really.

After this whole shambles which manager would want to come to work for Levy?

Yes I did. I thought the extension was just a way of Ajax protecting themselves and being able to get a decent compensation and why shouldn't they.

They have shown that they never stand in the way of players moving on and up as long as they get the proper renumeration.

My guess is that Levy left them hanging, probably reneged on a deal and pi55ed them off.

Sorry if I sound cynical but too many prominent people have come out openly and said Levy is a slippery bloke. It's embarrassing.

An activated clause still didn't mean that he'd have wanted to have left Ajax though, even if that did mean they would get more compensation. He might not have wanted to have left Ajax for Spurs, that might be the simple answer to that.

As I said previously, you will probably want a manager that fits a specific criteria and have a rigorous interview process throughout, hence why it is taking so long to get a new manager in. Knowing Levy, he will not want to leave no stone unturned in his next appointment, because look at what happened with Mourinho.

Depends which reports you read. Appartently he interviewed for the job. That tells you everything you need to know

To be fair, you're only speculating and your speculation is based on giving Spurs (and Levy in particular) the benefit of the doubt.

The fans reaction is based on media speculation (rightly or wrongly) but there are some reliable outlets (Alistair Gold, Fabrizio Romano etc.) who, more often than not, are fairly accurate in what they report.

Conte also interviewed for the job... he didn't want it either. It could have been a similar case with Ten Haag.

Everyone's theories are based off speculation. However, applying a bit of logic, any business of Spurs' size would have a process in place to ensure they get the right man for the job. Just because there was seemingly no selection process, does not mean they do not know what they are doing. It's just common recruitment practice to make sure you get the person you need. If that person doesn't want it after understanding x, y and z, then that's fair enough, you move on to the next. It's not really anything out of the ordinary really.

Its not this hard to appoint a manager thou.
They surely know who fits the criteria. Wasting time on the likes of Conte and Guttuso is bs.
Its probably hard if you new to football or are clueless.
