Week 9 without a manager

And two weeks before players are due back to our club for pre season training

Still no chance of a signing to cover the massive holes in the squad

Still no sense of a plan

Has our stock ever been lower under Enic? Every day I get sent a new Tottenham Meme about our hapless manager search

It’s such a mess

I’m really not even sure Daniel levy cares anymore. Tottenham Hotspur are now an ‘entertainment’ company of which the football team are one division of. I think Enic are more concerned with getting the guns and roses concert rescheduled or getting the nfl games on

Tottenham Hotspur. ‘There used to be a football club over there’

Totally gutted. We were so so close.

Now over to Sandy to tell us it’s all ok because we were relegated once in the 70s

Think the latest rumour is that Erik Ten Hag is the next one to be approached. He would have been my pick of all the managers we've been linked with anyway, aside from Poch. He ticks every box for us. Progressive, project man. Works with youth and on a budget. Cannot for the life of my understand why Conte, Fonseca and Gattuso were lined up ahead of him, assuming he's doable in a financial sense and actually wants to come.

Remember, this was the man Bayern had lined up if they couldn't get Nagelsmann. That should tell us everything.

Ten Hag would put me back on board. He was my pick too originally along with Brendan and Nagelsmann. I don’t have trust in Levy to pull it off though.

Whichever way we slice it, we clearly cannot have Paratici making a decision on who the manager should be. He chose Fonseca, who was underwhelming to say the least, and dropped him like a stone when Gattuso became available. Thank god for Gattuso's divisive political stance ruling him out. If it wasn't for that stroke of luck we'd have the worst manager in Europe in charge.

As bad as Levy is at making football decisions, he was picking the right ones before this Italian tw@t turned up. Time to take control back from him and bring back the committee. That's how we'll end up with ETH as he's by far the best candidate for the kind of job that needs doing.

We don't need the expense of paying a manager, Levy's got this sorted, he will do it all himself, need to put some better seats on the touchline though

I think we now might be waiting for the euros to end as there could be some candidates that become available.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Main thing for me is selling the deadwood
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah I think that's clear, any new manager will have to sell the deadwood to raise cash for new players.

I'm starting to think we are in a seriously bad position when it comes to finances
----------------------------------------------------------------------

All clubs are in a bad position regarding finances. Not exactly rocket science to know that with grounds being mostly shut for 18 months is not going to affect finances.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not rocket science to also realise that Spurs have been impacted the worse as we have to pay for a new stadium which we was reliant on being open
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not rocket science to also realise that actually, Spurs should have already budgeted for the loan repayments. To have not done so would have been grossly incompetent, but knowing who you have in charge of that, it's a distinct possibility.

EVERY other team in the country was reliant on their stadium being open to some extent for revenues so you can't really say Spurs were hit harder than other clubs due stadium closures.

United will have suffered most due to the size of OT and the corporate revenue generated on match days.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Are you kidding.

Leicesters Matchday revenue is £15m, Spurs is £95m.

Leicesters matchday is less than 10% of their total revenue. Spurs is more than 20%.

Spurs are also paying for their stadium and debt repayment is about £30-35m a year.

So the contrast is massive. For clubs like CFC, Utd, City Liverpool their commerical operations are vast (mainly sponsors and retail) so while their matchday is also large , it is a smaller proportion of their overall revenues - Our matchday is twice Man City's for example but their commercial is nearly twice ours.

As our matchday is a big chunk of revenue, to lose it hits us harder + the repayments on top.

Care to elaborate on your responses?

I'm only saying that, although there are sensibilities in making sure any sporting director has a harmonious relationship with any boss, it's also bloody important to make sure the boss coming in is actually decent. The very fact that Paratici picked Gattuso as his preferred option is maybe, just maybe, a sign that whilst he might be a talent spotter on the pitch, that doesn't translate well when choosing a manager. I wasn't sure on Fonseca as I knew little about him. His record was very much journeyman but I was willing to get on board reluctantly, hoping Paratici had seen something the rest of the world hasn't. His move then for Gattuso confirmed to me that he doesn't know his ar$e from his elbow when it comes to appointing managers. Maybe given the 'wow' and laughing emoji response to what I said earlier means that you're more knowledgable than I am on this one. Come on, I'd love to hear it.

Erik Ten Hag is a far more suitable candidate for Spurs under the current system and he's been under our nose all along.

On what level are Conte, Fonseca or Gattuso suitable for our current set up. Those are the three Paratici pushed for and I even think as good as Conte is, he's still not right for us.

Stick to picking up players, mate.
