Haven’t had much to get excited about with Spurs over these last few years and with the complete farce that is the manager fiasco, it’s nice to get a bit of a distraction from the mess going on at our club. I thought I would create a thread for the titanic game tonight v Germany. What’s your thoughts ? Definitely think we can win, but they always seem to let you down don’t they ? A bit like Spurs Hate to say it, but if we can somehow navigate through Germany, we have a very favourable route to the final. Come on England!!! 🏴

I worry about this three at the back plan. It only really works if you're wingbacks push on to create overloads in midfield. Their greatest strengths are in the wide areas so I'm predicting a three becomes a five fairly quickly. How do we get out? How do we work the transitions for a quick counter if we don't have the bodies in midfield.
I get that we're not the most defensively sound team in the world (as in with personnel not tactics) but Germany's greatest weakness is their backline. Hummels will not want to come up against pace. His legs are going. I just feel like we might be paying Germany too much respect by digging in. We're relying on the weakest area of our game rather than exploiting our strengths.
At some point conservative football catches you out. We have to be brave on the ball and match them up a little bit. This submissive tactic just doesn't work the further on in the tournament you go.
We're not exactly Greece are we!

Just seen the team, it`s awful, seven defensive players in the side. If that is the best England have, I doubt Germany will be overly worried.
