Kalvin Phillips

Seeing this thread is about KP, just another point.

Hoping that England get much further in the competition, win it even. But then if KP keeps playing then he'll need his rest time before the new season.

Really hope that if an alternate to him is being looked at that they get them in asap. We might be missing him early in the season, first games anyway.

Koch hasn't played, so he should probably be fine to cover Kalvin if not fit.

Watched the game a further 3 times today.
Kalvin was fabulous. He hardly puts a foot wrong.
He's Yorkshire Pirlo + Yorkshire Kante.

Marcelo must be beaming over the lad.

Seen so many ex pro's & coaches rave about the performance of Rice & Phillips, including the Germans. But Nickasuarus sounds like he's never had a wrong opinion before so should probably listen to him.

Capello has been asked about the comparison between Phillips & Pirlo, and has obviously responded by saying that they are nothing like each other. Because they really aren't, that's not the point.

However he goes on to say;

"At Leeds with Bielsa, Phillips has really grown a lot and today he is the best modern midfielder I have seen on the pitch."

The only question that remains is, who played at a higher level... Capello or Nickasuarus?

Evidently he had the most (11) ball winning tackles in any game up to that game.

I’ve seen calls for Southgate to rest him and Rice tomorrow but how can he? Winning is infectious and we need our best team out every game now.

As a Town supporter we've had some battles down the years, but Phillips is a great player, great man, & I think he's been superb ⚽⚽👏👏👏👏👏
