I’m really not sure how Celtic fans being arrogant and dismissing Rangers has any effect whatsoever on what goes on on the field. Like we’re ‘playing into your hands’ as if you have some Machiavellian master-plan. It’s baffling.

Well for one I would say the scenes after the Ross County cup game could be interpreted as reflecting a certain arrogance within an element of the Celtic support.

Waste of bandwidth. I didn’t say Celtic fans weren’t arrogant. I said that you’d be pushing it to suggest that had any measurable effect on the park.

Some Celtic fans are arrogant. Some Rangers fans are arrogant.

And fat.

And I am not sure having stuff thrown at them when they left the stadium did much to boost the Celtic players performances last season.

Plus I would say that if the more the fans are dismissive of Rangers challenge then hopefully the greater chance that attitude gets through to the players.

To be fair, it seemed likely. It certainly wasn’t an unreasonably expectation. Rangers fans were singing about 55 as soon as they got back into the top flight. That won’t be arrogance though, Im sure.

But fair enough if you find the idea baffling that an arrogant entitled support could potentially not be a good thing. I guess some people are more easily baffled than others.
