Very Sad day

I know that we have all known this for some time but I was hoping that Alioski would extend even just for one more year, the club have now confirmed that isn't going to happen.

I will miss him greatly, ER will not seem the same place without him.

Bye Gjianni, and good luck for the future you crazy lovable little man.

Well damn. One of my favourites over the last few seasons. Wish him nothing but the best. Hope he gets
the contract he deserves. He did himself no harm at
the euros.

Damn. I know this is best for alioski but it's not best for the team. We will miss his intensity and drive and I hope that we will be able to replace that part of his game. Firpo better be all that because he has big shoes to fill.

Sad to see him go, but silver lining for me is the missus won’t be drooling over him every time she watches a game!

Seriously though, gonna miss him being on the pitch for us. He gave us far more good games than bad.

One of my favourites in recent years - given 100% and as I said a few weeks back hope he gets a big fat pay cheque from some team - looked good at the Euros but we as a club are looking and moving forward.

He'll always be a legend though in terms of the squad that finally got us out of purgatory , nothing can ever change that fact.

All the very best to Gianni he's earned it.

You're right, Wilko – the squad we had for the promotion season (and the season before) will live long in the memory. They could have folded after the failure of the previous season but showed amazing resilience and character, and Alioski embodied that spirit. We wish you all the best, Gianni – there will always be a welcome for you at Elland Road.

Shame the fans couldn't give him the sendoff he deserves.

A very average player.

For a player with such a good, powerful, accurate shot, he failed on numerous occasions with the same accuracy when trying to pass to a colleague.

Shows how poor our left back options are that he filled in so often there.

not saying he's not a great character and useful squad player, but if we want to progress, he is one of the first that I would upgrade.

Just a shame that situations like this mean players don't get a decent send off.

I'm wondering if in final match, both parties thought agreement might still be reached.

I agree on all the above posts and hopefully Alioski will pen a farewell letter to the fans and I have a sneaky feeling he will grace the Elland Road Turf again in a European opposition shirt. Till then he leaves with everyone's best wishes and very happy memories.

Apparently he was a real live wire in the changing room and liked by all!..

I remember him taking a lot off stick around these boards, but whatever anybody said or thought, he was one that more often than not gave 110%!..

I wonder what the thoughts will be if he does decide to go to Turkey, because whatever he decides to do I for one will say all the best kid!..

What does very average even mean?

A player who was never going to set the world alight and if it wasn't for his persona, he would not be seen as a great loss.

Was part of the promotion side and did shine in the odd game, but was never imo a left back or indeed an attacking player to lead us forward.
