So says Rio Ferdinand when asked who England would rather play between Spain and Italy in the final. I can understand being confident, but have England been that good to make this kid of declaration. I hope for England's sake that their players don't have this level of arrogance and realise that they have a Semi-final to play against a motivated Denmark side first.

He's obviously a touch carried away and riding a way of optimism. Given everything going on around the world and how the last 18 months have panned out, it's an odd thing to take umbrifge with really. Who cares if someone is a bit giddy about the football?

there are obviously other national football teams that could quite clearly, at least compete with the current England team. Both Denmark and Italy are examples.
