Strikers

What the Euros has highlighted is that there is a dearth of top quality strikers out there.

If you look at some of the top teams, including Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Germany then they are all lacking that natural goal scorer.

Portugal have Ronaldo (36) who isnt really a pure striker, Poland have Lewandowski (33) who is top class. France have Benzema (33). The Czechs have Schick (25) who has looked good. and the Belgium's have Lukaku.

Outside of the Euros, there is Norway's Haaland. Brazil play with Richarlison up front and Argentina with Inter's Martinez (19 goals in all comps last season).

There really is not much out there in terms of a striker who could walk into any top team in the world. A fact that will, no doubt, not be lost on Daniel Levy.

Is there a reason the game demands an all around striker now instead of carrying someone who scruffs the ball into the net?

Is it me or does every team want 50M plus for an above average player.
An people think selling Kane for 100M is good business.
Can't see us replacing him with that.

There is not a chance in hell of Kane being sold for £150 million. I think Daniel Levy has already stated, bidding starts at £150 million, and that was before the Euros. I suspect his starting price will now be considerably higher.

Why? He’s been mostly poor in the euros?

Sandy's logic 😆

Don’t get me wrong he’s class, but I doubt the duos performances have had any say to his price.

I’ve just realised Sandy has filtered me. Can anyone ask him why? Lol

By Sandy's logic Sterling now worth at least £500m

If England win the Euros..advertising and media value of Kane will add at least 50m to whatever Levy had in mind before the Euros started.

They’ve struggled with finishing them all competition with or without a striker. Thought it was the right tactics, most of the time Spain win that game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Which is my entire point. There aint that many top quality strikers in world football which is resulting in teams dropping the best they have available in favour of a midfielder. This may give them added creativity but at the cost of not having anyone they can rely on or even be in the position to finish the chances created.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

They didn’t drop the striker because of missed chances though, they dropped the striker as they wanted to get the ball between the lines. That’s why I said the tactics worked.
